Curry muncher's road rage behind unborn baby's death, court told

ROAD rage was to blame for the death of a woman's unborn baby in a horror crash
in Melbourne nine days ago, a court has heard.
Indian migrant Amrick Thind, 22, has been granted bail over the December 27
crash that left an eight-month pregnant woman seriously injured, according to
the Herald Sun.
Her unborn assisted-conception baby did not survive the crash.
Melbourne Magistrates' Court heard Mr Thind, of Springvale, had been involved in
a road rage incident and was trying to overtake a driver at East Bentleigh who
had flipped him the bird when he crashed into a four-wheel drive.
The four-wheel drive was forced onto the wrong side of the road where it hit the
woman’s car.
Mr Thind kept driving through the wreckage but was identified by witnesses at
the scene, the court heard.
Three passengers in the woman’s car, including two teenage girls, were hurt and
the driver of the four-wheel drive suffered a broken collarbone.
The court heard Mr Thind had admitted to police he was driving the car involved
in the crash but claimed he didn’t know he had caused the head-on collision.
He said he fled the scene because he was afraid.
The court heard Mr Thind, who has been in Australia for four years on a student
visa, is awaiting the outcome of his bid for permanent residency in Australia.
Police were concerned he could flee as happened last year with killer driver
Puneet Puneet.
But the magistrate said reporting to police daily was reasonable given Mr
Thind’s immigration status and granted him bail on charges of dangerous driving
causing serious injury and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He is due to return to court in April.
