It's also known as the "gold card," "blue card," "red card" and several
other names.
It's a personality card with a PLC inside which wither duplicates the
functionality of a Foxtel technician's test card, or unlocks channels on the
fly when presented with a cypher key.
You basically pull out your Foxtel-supplied personality (subscriber) card,
plug this card in, and you instantly get access to all the premium channels.
After spending years and countless $millions subverting OptusVision by
publicising ways of circumventing their channel security*, Murdoch doesn't
like the shoe being on the other foot - so don't be surprised if using one
of these cards becomes punishable by lifetime imprisonment some time soon.
