Does anybody else with Foxtel iQ have problems this morning?

Can't playback anything I've recorded, can't record anything, can't
pause live TV and can't rewind live TV. Last night I could do them,
but live pause kept cancelling. Now nothing works.

I'm in Brisbane

I did. When he asked me to hold Select & Back on the Unit itself, I
went and did it. When I came back he had hang up on me.

So I sent Foxtel an email telling them that since they aren't
interested in fixing the problem, I won't be paying for the service
for any period that it isn't working. I'm not going to ring up again.
Takes to long after being on hold, just for them to hang up on me
again.

Sounds like the hard drive is dead. Can you hear it spin up when you
turn the unit on from scratch (obviously you need to be close to the unit).

iQ just started working again. Didn't do anything to fix it.

I'd still be worried about the hard drive if I were you. If it needs to
be replaced, you'll lose everything you have recorded (sorry to be
captain state the obvious).

Agreed. I just had these symptoms on my iQ along with one particular
program crashing the unit during playback (it looked like a bad sector
on the drive to me).

Anyway, the technician came out, took one look at what had been
happening and replaced the unit. Live pause now works and no more
crashes.

Life of previous iQ unit = 11 months. Given the constant HDD activity
on these things, I'm not surprised...
