The Ozzies need to stop going to the pub and getting
shitfaced and injuring themselves.

Well done, West Indies! It has to be good for cricket that they've
pulled off an upset.

Yeap!!

But even though the Aussies have been just about unbeatable this year
(Ashes, World Test Series, One Day (or was it T/20??), India Test
Series, Pakistan series), I still don't think they are anywhere near as
good as the Aussies through the 70's/80's/90's!!

Agreed. We were thrilled to watch the Windies win. Almost as good as
seeing the Joker beaten by Alcaraz.

We Aussies love a win by the underdog. Almost as much as we love to
laugh at being called "Ozzies".

Yep. But way back then, the Windies also had one of the great
cricketing teams.

Not as good as in the 1990s, I agree, and possibly not as good as the
side in the mid-1970s, but the Australian side that toured England in
1985 is about the weakest that I can remember.

[I've trimmed out the aus.politics newsgroup.]

Watched a Duco this afternoon, "Underarm - The Ball That Changed Cricket"!!

Certainly a disgusting event in Aus Cricket History .... although, at
the time, it was perfectly legal!

In the Aus Open, the Joker was beaten by Sinner, I think.
