In the book 'Big Mal', Meninga twice makes bitter references to a
contemporary, a 'very well known' fellow Queenslander and Kangaroo tourist
who a/once described Meninga to Ron McAulliffe as being as thick as two
bricks, and b/ on a later tour ridicules a former Brissie clubmate of
Meninga's for crying when they finally won the comp.
Anyone got any clues as to who this long-ago cad might have been?

Some v. useful players in that lot too; rep players & players who went on to
have good NSWRL careers: Kilroy, Murray, Henrick, Graham!, Conescu,
Meninga, Phelan, Naylor, Johnstone, Brown.

A fella I worked with lived next-door to Dowling for years. Reckoned he was
a total arse of a man. He'd be a favourite, IMO.
