Sorry make that three for Vic, I forgot about Winton.

Sounds like a load of bullshit to me, what upgrading ?, it looks a
damm sight better to me than some of the circuits thay race at.
More a case of the ARDC daring to run the opposition AMSCAR series

Thats great, its good to see the NT getting a round, but why not
add an extra round to the series, or drop one of the Vic. rounds
so that NSW and Vic. get two rounds each.

You got that part right.

At the Media Day, Craig Baird ran a sub 2:20 lap in a BMW 320i.
On yet another note, whilst bored at home, I rustled up a tape of the
1993 SATCC Grand Final from Oran Park. Guess who was winning? Peter
Brock.....what was his pole time....1:08 something.
What was this year's pole time? 1:08 something.
These aero packs must be damned good at roadholding, because with
another 100hp and better tyres and suspension, they can't go any
faster :-)....Perhaps Brocky is right, and we should reduce the wing
sizes, and make the cars more recognisable......BTW, he also confirmed
he is racing at the AMP Bathurst 1000, much to AVESCO (and apparently
Larry Perkins' disgust)......anyone who saw RPM will know what I mean
Food for thought...

Bugger - I fell asleep half way through (how embarassing) and missed
that bit. Can you fill us in on the details? Who is he driving with?
And more to the point, what is Perkins pissed about - I can't really
see that it's any of his business.
Food for thought definitely. I cannot stand this attitude of some
drivers that driving in another class of car is treason, or somehow
disloyal. Jesus F'ing Christ, he is a racing driver. That is what he
does!
Rant mode off,

Larry Perkins was saying a little goodbye thing to Brocky, and said
"And don't you go taking that appearance money"
or something very similar (I have it on tape, but im too tired to go
get it)
Basically, it's to do with the rumours about Brock being paid up to
$250,000 to race at the AMP Bathurst 1000.
Personally, I think it's aload of crap, and even if he's being paid
some amount, so be it. He has publicly stated he wants to win on the
long weekend, so Larry can go jump.
I doubt he would refuse $250,000 if someone offered it to him to race
a Holden vectra.

I can't remember the exact words, but it was something along the lines
of - don't do it for the appearence money.

Might having something to do with Larry's vested interested in V8
racing.

Perkins has had an enormous annomosity about Brock since they teamed up at
Bathurst. Perkins always felt that Brock hogged the limelight and that his
contribution was undervalued. Also there is a definate philosphical gulf
between them, Larry's politics make Jeff Kennett seem like Fidel Castro.
In fact I was amazed to hear Larry say anything at all on RPM as he
refused to comment about Brock to AA in their tribute after the retirement
announcement.

Channel 7 is paying Brock's $150,000 fee (appearance money).
Brock will drive a Vectra with Warwick with Australian F1 GP signage.
Most of the European cars will have their signage sold to Aussie
companies. Only the two Pugs and a Renault will carry over their
signage.

If you go to http://racetime.oz.nf and then select the rackings button, you
will get a comparison of Super Touring and SATCC cars at all circuits so
far this year.
All information is taken from Official TIming Data either from myself or
the circuit concerned.
