its always been about the Ego$$$$$ for Sheedy

This is purely a marketing exercise
Sheedy will be the face of GWS for 10/11/12

Already they acknowledge that someone else (McConnell)
will actually be coaching the side

Exactly, GWS is all about TV ratings driven by publicity and profile, and
Sheedy will help that aim far more than some anonymous ex-Assistant Coach.

Notice the terminology "Head Coach", it is a different model to what
people have experienced so far.

Yep, but the initial on-field performances mean little anyway when it
comes to building up the profile.

I am constantly surprised that some people still view these new
franchises as traditional football clubs, perhaps the penny will drop one
day....

agree totally...

The sad thing having lived and worked in shitneys west for years,
nobody out there likes the game.. "Poofta ball", "ariel pingpong"
They still see Warwick Capper as the typical player...

They arent the richest people out there so I dont see how they will
make crowds...

its the lower social and economic hub of the whole city.

It will be funny to see it fail.

of outgoing/incoming under the guise of unity!

I did love Sheedy's spin that they were going to build one of the
greatest clubs in Aussie Rules football.

Lots of competition for that already - just ask the supporters of any of
10 existing AFL clubs....
