REDSINE
Garry Nurrish reports that Redsine is returning to a
print format. "From January 2002, Redsine will be coming out as
5"x8" high quality trade paperback with a glossy colour cover.
Cosmos Books have committed themselves to bringing out the
magazine quarterly for at least the next two years. As a result
Redsine will have access to a distribution network that covers
the UK, the US and Australia. The webzine's final issue will be
issue 6, online June 1st. A further announcement will be made
early next month, which will include prices, subscription
information and more details concerning the magazine."
Redsine is currently looking for dark fantasy stories up to 5,000
words. Contact Garry at ga...@redsine.com for further submission
details.
HUMAN STOCK
Vaughan Whitlock reports that his sf novel Human Stock
will be released by Sid Harta Publishers in June/July. "A story
set in the year 2030, when cloning is the preferred means of
human reproduction for a women-dominated community surviving World
War 3." More details http://www.sidharta.com.au

Dart-Thornton The Ill-Made Mute; Kate Forsyth The Skull of the

BULLSHEET MEDIA WATCH
Damien Broderick notes that he too has graced the Teev
recently. "The new ABC TV Thurs 8:80 pm pop sci show Aftershock,
hosted by Richard Fidler, not only deals with gosh-shock-horror
ideas about the future, but so far has included two Aussie sf
writers in the panel (Sean Williams the first ep, me the second),
possibly with more to come. Russell Blackford was originally
invited to take part in the cloning ep but pressure of work
prevented his participation."
Yvonne Rousseau sends a copy of the Adelaide Advertiser
featuring the complete article on Roman Orszanski's house of
straw, along with a photo of Roman and Dylan.

FAN FUNDS
Paul Ewins reports that, due to time commitments, he was unable to
take his FFANZ trip, originally postponed until this year. He adds
"The current plan is to call for nominations RSN for NZ -> AUS for
2002 and then run AUS -> NZ in 2003. Linette has been fairly
inactive too (mostly due to illness I believe) so not much has
happened. On the bright side, as I didn't go anywhere the bank
balance is still very healthy."

CLUB NEWS
In tribute to Douglas Adams, who died, aged 49, on May 11, the
MSFC held a Hitch Hiker's Night in place of their scheduled 2001
Night on May 18. Towel Day has been scheduled for May 25, the idea
being to carry a towel to commemorate Douglas Adams. I guess it is
appropriately silly.
