become so overwhelmed by the spiritual that he is liable to “forget” to
leave. The Zohar uses the imagery of a “rope” as a reminder to the Kohen
Gadol that the Jewish people need him and he must “pull” himself back to
this world after the extraordinary otherworldly experience of Yom Kippur.

it is written, "And this is the Torah which Moses set before the children
of Yisrael" (Devarim 4:44), AND NOT BEFORE THE UNCIRCUMCISED. He is false
to the Prophets, as it is written, "And all your children shall be taught
of Hashem" (Yeshayah 54:13), not others. It is also written, "seal the
Torah among My disciples" (Yeshayah 8:16), among them and not among others.
He is false to the Writings, as it is written, "For He established a
testimony in Jacob, and appointed a Torah in Yisrael" (Tehilim 78:5), and,
"Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name" (Tehilim 140:14). Who
are the righteous? They are the Righteous, YESOD OF ZEIR ANPIN, and the
Congregation of Yisrael, WHICH IS MALCHUT CALLED RIGHTEOUSNESS. For whoever
is not circumcised or has not entered their covenant, will not give thanks
to His Holy Name, which it THE STUDY OF the Torah. Rabbi Chiya said, Once
