Because of our recent release of Train Dispatcher 3, Signal Computer
Consultants has decided to make Train Dispatcher 2 Railroad Simulation
Program free to the general public. You can download a free copy of Train
Dispatcher 2 from our web page at www.signalcc.com/train2/td2freeware.html.

Train Dispatcher 2 runs under Windows 3.1/95/98/NT/2000/ME operating
systems. A 50 page manual is included in the download.

Train Dispatcher 2 comes with five track territories. Another 200 track
territories can be downloaded for free from our web page at
www.softrail.com.

Train Dispatchers are the air traffic controllers of the railroads. They
control the movement of trains over large track territories. This game
simulates the gargantuan routing tasks a real-life dispatcher faces daily.
The problem is that trains must share a limited number of tracks. It some
cases a single track must be shared by trains going in opposite directions.
It is the job of the dispatcher to control the movement of trains over this
limited resource, which can create one bottleneck after another.

Why is Train Dispatcher so popular? The key to Train Dispatcher's popularity
is the local interest created by the vast territory library. What rail
enthusiast can resist trying a hand at controlling rail traffic in his own
home town? With so many territories available, the odds are excellent that a
particular territory which a user is interested already exits.

(apologies for top-posting)

I wguess this means that those of us who *paid* for Train Dispatcher 2 and
Track Builder should have held out so that once TD3 was released we could
get TD2 for free.

I have not yet upgraded to TD3 (and TB3) and I am now not sure that I will.
Christmas is just about paid off, the credit cards are almost usable again,
but why should I pay for somethign when it might be free in a few months
time? After all, I paid for TD2 and TB, and as they say, once bitten twice
shy.

Yes, was about to say the same Dave, only just brought TD3 about 2-3 week
ago so as to get rid of the bloody time lock, so what happens, I want my
$100 back if they start that up. I at least had the decency to buy the
software when there is so much info in the net for serial numbers. And as
the saying was and goes, one bitten twice shy!

I understand your position. We may release Train Dispatcher 4 in a couple
of years and
then we may make Train Dispatcher 3 free. Please note that Track Builder is
not free

I bought TD2 back in 1999. I have used it for years and lost it when my old computer with XP failed. now I have an older one again and I can only download the freeware. My disk won't load and I tried putting in the serial numbers for the TD2 and territories I bought and no luck. doesn't seem right that i'lll have to pay some money to get it too work kmaybe or justy but TD# i guess. Frustrating eventhough it is older bnow.

This version will run on Windows XP and 7. We have been told by
numerous customers that they had no problems running this software on
Windows 10.

You tried cleaning the CD?
toothpaste is good
(Don't "clean" the label side! The underside of that is where the info
is stored, clean the plastic clean side, use paper towel up/down
movements, not circular)
