But where's the TVM and lifts for the disabled? Are there free umbrellas
and sunscreen provided to make up for the loss of a canopy? Never mind, I
guess CityRail have seen to it that there is a continually playing
announcement system reminding customers of not smoking under covered areas,
the need to keep prams under control, standing behind the yellow lines at
all times, and travelling in the carriage where the blue light is. I
expect that the nightsafe area is clearly painted on the platform surface.

Quite modern "stations" about the same footprint but using steel, concrete
and bitumen as materials are found in outer suburban Perth, south of
Armadale where only the Australind ventures - like Byford, Mundijong ...
none of the electronics or histrionics, though -;)
