Hello.

Today, at each barrier at Central Station were a bunch of people with name badges and Penalty Notice books, but a uniform I had never seen before.

It was a white shirt, a black jumper and black pants - similar to the old SRA "Revenue Protection Officers".

They were looking at people's tickets and giving out Fines.

They had no capsicum spray, nor handcuffs, nor batons.

Do all NSW Transit Officers have new uniforms? Or just some of them?

Noodle.

I suppose that, like stationery, the canny public servants keep the stocks of
old uniforms on the reasonable assumption that a future administration will
bring them back.

Or maybe they bought a job lot of uniforms from a private security company that
was changing its corporate image.

Today, they were in Town Hall.

I spoke to one today.

They are now called "Transport Officers", work on Buses, Ferries & Trains, and only as far as Hornsby, Penrith and Waterfall, and only work from from 6am to 9pm.

They wear white shirts, a black jumper and black pants - just like the old State Rail "Revenue Protection Officers".

They do not have handcuffs, nor mace and do not chase people if they run away.

They called NSW Police if they need to arrest someone.
