A residents group has emerged in the Adelaide Hills to offer
friendship to asylum seekers at a planned new detention centre for
Families in Inverbrackie South australia.
As tension over the decision to relocate asylum seeker families from
Christmas Island to the Inverbackie Army base in the Adelaide Hills
continues to simmer, a residents group has emerged to offer friendship
to the new arrivals.

Media reports of a WAR in the adelaide Hills are simply wrong , I was
in Woodside main street for lunch at 12 noon today opposite the hotel
and it was in every way perfectly normal in every way, everybody I
know welcomes the Refugee families and many are happy to offer
friendship which is the best form of assistance for any new arrival
anywhere
Fearing that Hills residents are being portrayed as racists, the group
has set up a facebook page called the Inverbrackie Refugee Support
Group.

Oldman Kangarooistan is the online name of Mal Fabian, who helped
establish the facebook site.
He told Karen Ashford that opponents of the asylum proposal are a
