The guys in Toto will get their hands dirty when they stick their hands in
the cement of the Hollywood Rockwalk on May 4.
The Rockwalk ceremony, which
will be held outside the Guitar Center in West Hollywood, is seen as vindication
for the band by guitarist Steve Lukather, according to the CBS Morning
Resource.
"The way we perceive it is you either love us or hate us,"
Lukather said. "There's very little waffling, you know? We have a bit of a
stigma attached to our name. People go, 'Oh, those bleepin' studio hacks, (they
have) no vibe.' It's just the same old stupid criticisms they've been giving
us."

How is your musical IQ? Alice Cooper will find out on May 12th when he hosts
Rhino Records' third annual Rhino Musical Aptitude Test, an SAT-style music test
that aims to find the ultimate music trivia expert.
According to the CBS
Morning Resource, the test will take place at four Tower Records locations
in four different cities (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas) and over
the Internet at www.rhino.com. The open-book trivia test will cover all genres
of music, except classical, and features 305 multiple choice questions. The
exams themselves will be tightly guarded, arriving at each test location by
armoured truck.
In the meantime, Cooper is gearing up for the release of his
box set on April 20th. The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper includes 84
tracks -- both unreleased and outtakes -- that span his three decade career. In
addition to the box set, Rhino will release the home video version of Cooper's
concert film, "Welcome To My Nightmare."

The Piano Man might have sung his last song if all goes according to plan.
Billy Joel played what is most likely his last pop concert on Tuesday (April 20)
at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
Joel, who has been focusing on classical
music recently, has said many times during the past year that he would retire
from pop music by the time he was 50 (which happens on May 9) and Tuesday's
concert was his last scheduled show on his "Farewell To Pop Music" tour.
Despite it being his last pop show, there was very little in terms of a
farewell ceremony. Joel did, however, play a range of musical genres to mark the
occasion. In addition to playing his classic hits, he performed a renditions of
Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze," "Good Times Bad Times" by Led Zeppelin, Frank
Sinatra's "My Way" and a few riffs of Mozart and Beethoven to introduce other
songs.
Near the end, Joel thanked his stage crew some of whom had been with
him for 30 years. In fact, he even allowed a couple of members of the crew to
lead the show in a few songs including versions of "The Lady Is A Tramp" and
AC/DC's "Highway To Hell."
For the final encore of the evening, Joel
performed "Piano Man" - a fitting end since the song was the Piano Man's first
big hit.
Joel did not leave without giving some words of wisdom, according
to the New York Daily News. "Don't take no shit from nobody," he said. He
also showered the entire front row with champagne, and handed some out to a few
fans.
The New York Daily News also reports that Joel is expected to
unveil one of his classical works during a taping of "Inside the Actors Studio"
for Bravo. The show will air in the fall.
