Lives in Melton and his address is announced regularly over the air.
His usenet posts also come from Melton IP's. Apparently he's part
German part aboriginal and comes from Sydney where he reckons he also
caused major havoc and had numerous intervention orders placed against
him.
He talks about his rig occasionally. Apparently it's a borrowed 208h
with a 140W linear amp and a rojone. Also has a powerful loop yagi
apparently. The only person I've ever heard to make his signal into
MEL07 even squeal is VK3AAZ and that was from twice the distance.
In the 6 months He's been abusing MEL07 the CB airwaves have cleared
of reasonable dialog and reasonable people. It is nauseating
listening to him go over his limited repertoire again and again.
Unfortunately there seems to be nothing anyone can do about it and
people are forced to use the "off" feature of their radio's.

He had another trick that's had me wondering for a while now. Every
so often people would drop a carrier on the repeater to time it out
and shut him up, but he had a way around that and he explained it
once, calling it "heterodyning".
He would detune a transmitter on the repeaters input frequency by 5-10
kHz and transmit briefly, to turn the repeater back on. As far as I
can figure out, with a big enough signal, that would get through the
repeaters duplexer and desensitise it to anything else, but actual
heterodyning wouldn't even close a squelch.
The problem is that I've heard him do this to repeaters 40-50
kilometers away for extended periods of time. Even given his linear
amp, surely he couldn't lock EVERYBODY out of a repeater that way?
Thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

you can program a radio off freq(I have a Kenwood at 6.25KHz off), This
goes outside the receiver's bandwidth and very briefly drops the RXer,
this of course will reset a timed out repeater
it's also funny to listen to the bigger stations wondering why their
transmission keeps dropping out

Also, I'm guessing you'd need at least as powerful a signal as the
carrier dropper, but how much bigger does the signal have to be for
this to work?
I wish I could test all this out, but 3 of the 4 Melbourne repeaters
got switched off a week or three back, taking all the shenanigans with
them.

No it doesn't have to be as powerful as it will be operating outside the
bandwidth of the stronger signal

6/4/10 - MEL07 Shutdown
The troubled MEL07 repeater located at the Pentland Hills in
Melbourne's west has been shut down possibly never to return and the
committee that oversees MEL07 and other repeaters across Melbourne
have not ruled out turning off more services under their control if
trouble continues.
A committee spokesperson told UHF CB Australia that 'It was a very
tough decision to make, but one that could not be postponed any
longer" She went on to say that "It is sad that a handful of CB'ers
are ruining a hobby that so many find so enjoyable"
Melbourne over the last few years has seen the return of a record
number of repeaters to the metropolitan area but unless things improve
we may see a return of empty airwaves, Something that looked like it
was going to be a thing of that past.
