In today's digital world - BACKUP EVERYTHING

This isn't really a radio thing specifically but there is a leason
here.
Megaupload has been shutdown due to copyright and interlectual
property theft. My guess is there would be a stack of stuff on there
that would be illegal.
BUT
What about people that have stuff on there like their own digital cam
pic from holidays, work documents etc etc. Apparently the powers that
be have got their needed data for their court cases against
Megaupload. They have been given permission to the hosting companys to
delete data.
So there you go people - we can see who's side the powers that be are
on! It's not the "be fair and justice for all".
I'd suggest that it would be another triumph for people power if all
those people that had legit stuff on there lost it, got together and
mounted a counter claim.
Surely there would be a way for people to get their legit pics off
there after going through a process! It might be a very long process!
The leason is BACKUP EVERYTHING & keep a copy in a different place
even if it's on an external drive buried in the garden! Done that
before - house hold insurance doesn't replace lost important emails!

The point of this is "cloud computing" as and will continue to be

But when the same thing happens to whoever runs the cloud you'd be in
the same boat wouldn't you? Just as stuffed! Arguing (at best) to get
your pictures out of the cloud that aren't subject to the lawsuits
directed at others on the cloud servers!

the very reason why I wont use cloud , and anyone doing so (use cloud)
