On the subject of 2MMM, the new breakfast with Amanda Keller & Mikey
Robbins to me doesn't work as well as Denton. But who is this Jamie who
seems to say more than either of them and doesn't get any billing?

Might be Rowie ex Triple M Brisbane he is a funny bugger, he was good up
here in drive, didn't take to much seriously which made him very easy to
listen to.

Shaun.

Hey Richard
Jamie Rowe (spelling?)until recently was in Brisbane on MMM drive.
Did less than 12 months.(An insider tells me the wraps on Jamie are huge.)
Prior to that worked with SEA sunny coast.
Didn't set Brissy on fire, but to be fair wasn't here long enough,as I have
mentioned earlier.

They must be planning something then, just like they did when Mikey
Robbins came on low key to do lunches to test the reaction. Personally,
I stopped listening to the Triple M long lunch when he did, but I'm not
claiming to represent their whole target market :-)

So where can they add Jamie to their lineup - Club Veg seems well
ensconced so maybe replacing Jonesy in the 9-midday slot?

That'd be right, don't give the Brissy guy the billing (though that's
probably not why)

Row I think - just call him Rowee.

Of course they are - the guy is legend for radio, former stand up
commedian. Singlehandedly made Brissy radio interesting - only announcer
worth listening to - rest are OK for time & temp.

I'd just get someone to panel for him on 2MMM as although he didn't have
any major stuffups, he was always saying, "if I can press the right
buttons" etc. But then, that adds to his raw appeal.

That gig was even better than 4MMM, had some real fun there - loved the
interaction with Kieron at the end of his shift, you had to be there.
Rowee's two hander with Jacqui Kassulke to introduce her to the
listeners was also very memorable (would've made a good team). 2000 was
a vintage year for 91.9 Sea FM.

I think he did, if you were listening, put on brekky for a couple of
weeks if I remember correctly. Trouble is if they marketed him, he
would've been a rip-roaring success - a celebrity even? But then
Brisbane radio doesn't promote their announcers or really push for
personality either.

Regardless, Sydney are VERY lucky to have him - treasure him, listen to
him - Brisbane has lost a great radio person.
