Who are some of the older Jocks you remember and maybe someone can do a
where are they now
When I was a kid my parents always listened to David Jones I think that
was the old 2nx days.
(I will say I have always been mainly a NEWFM listener)
Going to Newcastle TAFE in the early 90's the NEW ZOO on NEWFM was
great. JPG and Garth Russell back then.
Mobbs and Fletch doing nights in the early days of NEWFM, young spero
calling up everynight and winning prizes. He did a DJ stint for a while
didn't he.
Bridie - She started out as a thunder driver didn't she and ended up on
the night show? Can't remember the name of the guy she was working
nights with. I liked her dirty mind remember her one night talking
about her erect nipples.
I ran into Thunder Dick and Katie (ex newsreader) at the Skyrail in
Cairns a few years back.
Greg Clark (Think that was his name) partnering Carol Dunken before Don Mayo

a couple back, he briefly did some weekend shifts on 2NURFM & worked doing
sales at the Good Guys Kotara. I think he's retired now.
Don't know who JPG is, do you mean JPY John Paul Young of 70's music
fame(Love is in the air)?
Garth Russell is at 1233 ABC Newcastle, doing mornings I think.
Mobbs & Fletch, not too sure I think Mobbsy's at Triple M Sydney.
Young Spero if I remember correctly is Billy, last I knew on air at NXFM.
(actually trained me to Panel at NX many years back).
Bridie was working for Foxtel at one time (channel V I think), not sure
where she is now.
Greg Clark, I think did some time at NX, & I think was Program director at
NEW FM for a while, now works at 2GO Gosford 2-6pm shift.
Remember Don Dawkins, 2NX & NXFM?
Last I knew he was working at 106.3 FM Canberra
Teena Bernice, ex Taree Miss Showgirl, KOFM breakfast, partnered to DJ, also
working at 106.3FM Canberra.
A lot of the good (older) Newcastle jocks have left the industry (woking in
sales or Real Estate) & some are now working (behind the scenes, sales or
other) at 2HD/NewFM, some still do the odd on air shift at 2HD.
Could probably think of plenty more, just not right now.
Oh, anyone know where John Henry ex 2KO in the 70's is now? He was my idol
as a kid & partly why I wanted to get into radio.
