Breakfast Personality

06 Mar 2007
Triple G FM Gunnedah has lost another staff member to a higher
position in life. AGHHH!
We need a vibrant Brekky Jock who's not afraid of the phones and knows
how to inform and entertain our vast audience. If this sounds like
you, send me your resume and a short aircheck using the link below
ASAP......

It is always good to see people moving up the ladder from their
country gig. Anyone know who the current Triple G-FM breakfast
announcer is and where they are going?

Louise Poole from Gem-FM in Inverell is also moving up the ladder, she
is off to NX-FM in Newcastle.

According to Jocks Journal, it's Greg Henry, and he's off to be MD &
Jock at NOW FM Moree!

Wow!! Gunnedah to Moree!!! Is that a jump up Bill's ladder or a slide
down the Carallis's Snakes and Ladders Radio Control game?

Wasn't Peter Holden (and half of 4VL) at Moree?

Has he left already?

Triple G Gunnedah breakfast announcer Greg Henry is moving to Moree to
take up the position of PD/morning presenter at NOW FM effective March
12.

I didn't even know Greg was back. I knew he left and went to 2NM /
Power in Muswellbrook for a bit.

A few people from Inverell & Gunnedah have made the trip north to
Moree. James, ex 2DU, 2AD and either Inverell or Gunnedah was at Moree
for bit, I don't know if he still is. Someone else recently from
Inverell / Gunnedah made the move north to Moree also.

I was thinking the same. Maybe he has stepped down from PD and is
taking on the brekkie gig @ Now? Questions, questions, questions?

John Daskey seems to have done a dizzy drive around the area,
2NZ, them 2MO, then 2VM... Showing up again on 2MAX FM and having a
fulltime non-radio gig.

Now Greg Henry is zipping off to NOW/VM - I Think middle of the
month...

G'day,
Greg's going back to where he originally started in commercial radio!

Yeah he was at 2NM/power for a while.
Maybe it didn't work for him?

Is the 'little person' still GM there? I remember going for a gig at GGG
back in 1998 and got knocked back!

Hilarious

I understand 7 people have left the station in the past 3 months. Erin
Mac, NOW FM's PD/Announcer left to Townsville. Robbie Smith, NOW FM
Announcer left to Bega. NOW FM PD/Announcer. Peter Holden gone to
Melbourne, and their News Journo is off to the Sunshine Coast. Their
tech, a receptionist and some guy who came in a few days to learn the
NOW FM Brekky job have also left.

I'm sure if anyone wants a job there, there's no shortage of
positions.

To finish up this thread and considering it's a little quiet in here I
thought I do a quick copy & paste job from JJ.

Hayley McAdam from Perth has joined Triple G Gunnedah to host
afternoons.

Old Billy Goat gets paid out a lot, but one thing you do have to say
about him at least a lot of his stations are live & local most of the
day.

Armidale have recently added an afternoon jock to their FM service. I
think it's only Mudgee & Parkes who finish up the local thing @ 2pm on
their FM service. If that is the case, it hardly seems worthwhile
networking to those two stations?

Unfortunatly for Peter Holden he was screwed by the office lady in
Moree....why the office lady, well it's because they never actually
hired a GM after Birch died. So they simply promoted some dottery old
lady into the position who probably struggles with the office filling.
They never had any trust in Peter from the beginning and simply kept
him in the dark. The office lady come Station Manager Pat Hetherington
never gave Peter the information he needed to do the job. Now it is
left to country radio rubber ball Greg Henry to put it right. Greg
will no doubt be running the show very soon as he is an extremely
competant country radio PD and if Pat is not careful she will be back
to taking down lost and founds and ordering biscuits for the CWA
meetings held in the lobby. My prediction is that Greg will shortly
become a GM.
Peter Holden had no support from the tea and biscuit lady and this is
despite working hard to get to know people and pick up the ball from
Erin Mac who basically left him no information as she was off to
Townsville with her head in the clouds worrying about what would
happen to her boyfriend who she was leaving behind.
The fact is that the Station Manager Pat Hetherington is a novice to
radio and has at one point even suggested to a news reader that he
would work less hours if he didn't put actuality in the grabs.....yes
obviously Pat is struggling with the whole radio concept....better go
back to ordering the tea and coffee Pat darling.
