With the conversion of 3AW to 693......is it time ACE stations think
about ditching relays of 3AW's programs??

3AW's coverage, now they are at 693, is good in Colac (3CS)....just
wondering how 693's reception in other Victorian ACE markets.......3GV,
3YB, 3HA, 3SH, 3WM.

Any 693 reception feedback in the ACE market would be great, and
thoughts about ACE dropping some, maybe not all, of the 3AW content??

Well, yes I guess 3CS and maybe 3YB and 3GV could drop a lot of 3AW's
content, but I think you would find that if they could, they would just
have local Breakfast in the ACE stations and Relay 3AW through the rest
of the day.
I am not at all shocked by the fact that 3CS decided to take Drive from
3AW.
Actually, I would have thaught that the other ACE stations would have
taken Hinche's program as well. At the moment, only 3CS and 2ay take
his program. As far as I know.

He would also be good compertision in the ACE markets up against Laws.
Actually, on the subject of 693 and Colac, Magic had a 6% share in one
of the last Colac servays.
So it will be interesting as to how 3AW, on that same frequency
rate....

There are several ACE stations that no longer have local breakfast, Grant &
Carmen are heard on 3GV and 3WM along with some MIXX FMs.
And 3GV!!! 693 was part of the Nielson survey of the Latrobe Valley.

Sad really......just goes to show how ACE have really fucked up when it
comes to localisim.....still...they must still be getting the $$$ so
why should they care??....shows how many 'dickhead' local business
owners there are in the ACE areas......'hey....you spend $$$ and we
will put you on our AM and FM stations'......one who wants to get into
LOCAL radio would be better going for a job at 2LT or 4VL really.

No wonder so many customers shop out of town.

Regarding localism, ACE do an ok job of covering it, with local news
etc etc. But, I think they tend to leave that job to the local
community stations in their markets. Triple H Horsham, 3Way FM
Warnambool, Smart FM Swan Hill and Gipsland FM (+ all the others in
that part of victoria. The only town that does not have a local
community station (which I find strange) is Hamelton.
