Female newsreaders on 2SM

The word on the street is that 2SM generally hires newsreaders on the
basis of how cheap they are, not talent.

And as the old saying goes, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

When they had the 2KY feed, I lost count of the number of factual
errors they made and the terrible delivery of their morning readers.

No wonder they got gipped for 2GB.

2GB would have the worst female readers in Sydney Erin Marr (?) for one. I
think that they are all coached by the same brush. Emphasise, pronouncement
and speed of delivery are a worry. Give me the ABC girls anyday!

G'day,
the fact remains that all of the 'good' newsreaders who came from
2SM(Which feeds a mainly country audience)are now at 2UE.
Bill Caralis has said in the past that a lot of his good newsreaders
had been poached by other networks.
At least he's giving them a start and training them.

Erin Maher did a competent job of filling in for Rowan Barker when he
was in hospital and has ably presented the afternoon news for quite a
long time. People who perform poorly wouldn't last long at a top rating
station. The rest of the female newsreaders with some experience are
fine too.

Time moves on Ian S, the world here in Australia does not speak the
Queen's english any more and the ABC needs to modernise as well. They
don't need to drop their quality, just an up to date style like 2GB,
which is the number 1.
