I have been in Sydney on holidays over Christmas and listening to
Trevor Sinclair fill in on the show for the past couple of weeks.
His talk breaks are more concise and to the point, more relevant and
informative to listeners, and there's certainly more of a smile and
warmth to the program.
Also, from a PD's point of view, he delivers on the MIX promise "most
music in the morning". I listened the week before Christmas and noted
that even when he was working with Jonothan "Jono" Coleman, he was
keeping the show bright, fun and informative, and still managed at
least 7 songs per hour.
I know the same was true a couple of years ago when he was working with
comedian Jean Kitson - he was one of the best Breakfast Show anchors in
the country, then MIX decided to shuffle its whole line-up and replace
him with "Mr Bore". Perhaps there were internal problems, but I'd find
that hard to believe, as although I have never worked with Trevor,
colleagues have informed me that he is one of the most consistant and
reliable performers in the business.
Perhaps one day MIX will see the error of its ways and realise that its
Breakfast Show will never rate whilst it has such a dull host.

This discussion attracted my attention this weekend as I had heard
Trevor Sinclair doing the Morning Show a couple of weeks ago and
thought he must have been the new host as he was so much better than
the guy I had heard before, George Moore.
I tuned in today, Sunday afternoon my time, and found that this bland
character, George Moore, was indeed back on the show. He speaks down
to his newsreader/co-host, Jenny. Even his guests sound bored! How can
a station in a major market like Sydney make such a foolish decision
about appointing a Morning Host? How are the guy's ratings?
Can someone please post his last survey figures, and Trevor Sinclair's
figures in this forum.
Breakfast (George Moore) - 7.4
Morning (Bogart Torelli) - 9.1
Afternoon (Trevor Sinclair) - 11.0
Drive (Rob Duckworth) - 9.5
Night (Richard Mercer) - 10.7
Station Average (10+) - 9.1
From this I note that Trevor is 1.9 ahead of the Station Average,
whilst George is 1.7 behind the Station Average, and that Afternoon is
the best performing program on the station.
Hope this is what you needed guy.
Trevor Sinclair and Ronnie Sparx were 2 of my inspirations to get into
Radio. I used to listen to Trevor doing his Drive Show a few years
back, and then later on his extraodinarily funny Breakfast Show with
Jean Kittson. Those guys worked so well together, and I loved their
"Jude and Joy" and the "Morning Glory" segments, along with the
topical stuff of the day which Jean and Trevor would work on together.
It was just wonderful! And boy does the guy know how to interview ...
wish I could relate to my guests that well ... maybe in a few years.LOL
Thanks for the survey results. Can I check others online anywhere?
Wish I coulda heard those shows. If anyone has Airchecks of them,
email me and I'll give you my address.
Anyways, good luck 2 U.
Randy.
