I had the honour of paneling for owen many years ago.
He was one of the very few genuine people i ever met in that building.

Owen Delaney - though you may be gone in body, your warmth and sincerity
will be with us forever. "Thank you" to one of the true gentleman of Radio,
you'll be missed.

Alan Jones recorded a tribute which was broadcast today on 2GB, you can
listen to it at 2GB.com if you are interested.

Very nice.
Thanks to Trevor Long for the story.
Of course, for those who are not aware, Owen often filled in for Alan on
2UE.
A truly nice to hear acknowledgement of a former colleague from an
opposition station. Dare I say it, "well done AJ"

It's a sad moment indeed to hear of the passing of Owen Delaney.
I heard him as a fill-in for many of the big names. Much of the time it must
have been at short notice but Owen was always in control, on top of the
issues. That's how I heard him, a true radio professional. Australian radio
is poorer today with the loss of Owen.
Rest in peace mate, we'll miss you !

Ian

Owen was a top bloke. Not many know that he also had a very good singing voice.
He once hosted a variety show on NZ TV.

Got to know of Owen when my wife worked as night supervisor in a hospital & I listened to "Australia Overnight" So professional. Talking with friends over dinner last night & I googled to see where Owen was these days. He was about my age & I was surprised to read he passed away so long ago. Never met him but I wish I had

Hi Jester.

I used to listen to Owen's show when I was in high school. Loved it. I have now had a thirty year career in radio, inspired by people like him.

Just a quick question: What was the theme music he used every night to introduce the show? I remember the tune well but can't think what it was called.....
