One thing I did notice, was despite him being the main "host" of the
show, it still felt like a team (The Cage, etc...) type format, where
input from Majella and others were needed to help kick things along.

This is quite a shame. I enjoyed his comments, especially those
compliments he aired about me last week. I didn't hear it live
unfortunately, but am told they were very kind words and all I can say
is, thanks very much for the mention - much appreciated.
I really don't know why professional broadcasters would waste time
airing comments about the radio industry as I thought the audience
wasn't interested, but it provides hours of laughter to those who do
follow it.
Certainly provided a great laugh for all those at The Listener's
Christmas function held recently. My guests and I can only hope that
the new b'fast team continue to provide such stools of audio foolsgold
for next year.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish a merry Christmas to David
Greenwood, Wayne, good ol Moffee (you're a trooper mate, keep up the
good work) and of course the lovely Majella who was ever so courteous
to me. All the best for 2007.

How long has 'Goldie' been on River949? Hmmmm, why is he so bitter
about such things. I mean, perfect opportunity for him to ask his dad
to do the same thing as Wayne on his 2SM b'fast show. Please, go right
ahead, it's the lack of professionalism on those who broadcast such
matters, certainly not mine. I am not the one publicly airing dirty

It's a pretty good gig for the right person (or people) given the
station is heard throughout SE Qld - from the Gold Coast to the
Sunshine Coast, west to Toowoomba and in Brisbane - not to mention the
area it's licenced for - Ipswich - which is growing at a truly
phenomenal rate and will continue to do so for at least the next 20
years. Just look at the plans for Ripley and what's happening at
Springfield and nearby.
Before everyone admonishes me for saying that, I know River is only
licenced for Ipswich and immediate surrounds to the north and south,
but the simple fact is that many people outside that area listen to the
station - like it or not.
Now if only the Federal Government would fix the Ipswich Motorway......
it's easily the most dangerous road in Australia..... yet one of the
busiest, too. What's the hold-up, seriously?

Whilst I don't agree with what Wayne did on air (yes Marcus, I'm sort
of your side with this one), Marcus has tried to lessen the reputation
of alot more radio people than have tried to lessen his. Let's get a
bit of perspective on this.

Exactly, that's what this newsgroup is for since it's unmoderated. All
radio industry sites compliment each other.
Thread has really lost any interest of radio news value now however and
posts subesquent from the topic last night have only focussed on

That's just it, Marcus IS NOT A JOURNALIST! Even if there was a
vacancy, River or anyone else for that matter don't have to tell him
shit. The reason Marcus called in the first place was to tell the
breakfast crew gossip about a certain person. I'm not going to post the
exact details here because that would make me as bad as that little
shit-stain. The point is: A. Marcus isn't a journo. B. He doesn't post

Once again, MARCUS IS NOT A JOURNALIST. He is a festering pimple on the
arse of the radio industry, that one day, someone is going to pop. No
he didn't make a call to ask a simple question as he would have all you
loyal followers of the gospel of Marcus believe. He called to relay
some information he had on a staff member. The only reason he called
was to try to stir shit and get that staff member in the shit. He
didn't call once, but, 4 or 5 times, after being told to fuck off the
first time. Marcus has been rejected by just about every commercial
radio station in South East Queensland and he sees this forum as a way
of getting back at the 'man'. He's not a journo. He's sour. Sour that
an industry he loves doesn't want him.
