Hi,

After having my Kenwood TH-77A (Australasian version) in the cupboard
for sometime I decided to make sure all was working OK. To my horror
the transmit 'feature' is no longer there.

The radio receives fine on VHF,UHF and VUHF (the pushed VHF). There is
some warmth I think when it tried initially but now the 'on air' symbol
appears in the LCD but the transmit bars do not show. I have
disassembled it completely and there is no break on the feed to the
antenna (used to happen with my old TH27).

The radio was modded before I purchased it second hand so it has
wideband VHF Tx/Rx and UHF widened as well. The mods look like
they should enable airband AM but this doesn't work (so any hints
about that would be good).

If anyone has had their Kenwood TH-77 stop transmitting and fixed
it I would appreciate their comments. The radio is not worth taking
to a repair shop especially if it was going to cost more than A$100
to look at it. Plenty of new micro handhelds available and the old
one can be used as a receiver.

I look forward to any comments and appreciate your help.

Cheers,
Dave.
