# Australia will only have a chance at membership if it is not seen as a
mere obedient lackey of the United States.
An independent view might be welcomed, but not otherwise. This need not
be contrary to any Aust-US Alliance necessarily, but the alliance might be
viewed with suspicion and cripple any actual election.
It was the ALP's own Dr. Herbert V. Evatt who was a founding father of
the UN, helping draft many of its basic legal aspects; so that is a plus.
Australia wants more "foreign investment" - to what benefit for
Australia? We are already largely run by Transnational corporations, and
foreign money is only too happy to snap up existing enterprises.
Australia, the world's quarry, has little to boast about in its own
right - except possibly Olympic medals, and some tourism prospects. Even
our farming is on a slide, due to drought and climate change.
Manufacturing? How much of that has been exported to low-wage nations, so
our import bill balloons accordingly?
Still, it is good that an effort is being made to take a stand, and
reassess the whole situation of what Australia is, and what it might have to
offer.

Ah yes "Doc" Evatt. Almost as incompetent as Shitlam, Hawke, Keating,
amd Krudd. That puts him in the top league of losers.

Wrong. Have fun explaining how come we got one previously.

Wrong. Have fun explaining how come we got one previously.

Wrong. Have fun explaining how come we got one previously.

Pigs arse he was.

> helping draft many of its basic legal aspects; so that is a plus.

Not relevant to what is being discussed.

> Australia wants more "foreign investment" - to what benefit for Australia?

Oh, just a few tiny details like the lowest unemployment rate in 35+ years etc.

> We are already largely run by Transnational corporations,

Pigs arse we are.

> and foreign money is only too happy to snap up existing enterprises.

There's plenty that aint anything like that.

> Australia, the world's quarry,

And that provides a lot of our employment and economic benefits.

We are the ONLY modern first world country with a positive
balance of trade in OUR favour with Japan and China, due to that.

You're too stupid to care ? Your problem.

> has little to boast about in its own right - except possibly

Wrong, as always.

We are the ONLY modern first world country with a positive
balance of trade in OUR favour with Japan and China.

> Even our farming is on a slide, due to drought

And droughts dont last forever, stupid.

> and climate change.

Easy to claim thats having any effect on our agriculture. Hell of a lot harder to
actually substantiate that claim. And we can obviously change the way we do
agriculture if it ever does anyway. Just like we have been doing for centurys now.

> Manufacturing?

Manufacturing is only a tiny part of any modern first world economy.

> How much of that has been exported to low-wage
> nations, so our import bill balloons accordingly?

Who cares ? That result is completely inevitable given that we will
never be a low wage country and only a fool would want us to be.

> Still, it is good that an effort is being made to take a stand,

Just another of your pathetic little pig ignorant fantasys.

> and reassess the whole situation of what Australia is,

Who'll be operating the rudder of our country if Rudd is sitting at
the UN Security Council?

Is that right, Rod? So why did KRudd say he wanted a seat? Maybe he

No wonder! How many years had Kevin stood (with trolley of groceries)
at checkouts in supermarkets?

Who else had shopped because his missus had been chief breadwinner?

Well, based on yesterday's news reports, looks like Krudd is a bigger
lick spittle of the USA than anyone before him.

KRudd = Bush's Poodle!

No need to wonder!

Because it ain't Krudd now anyway. He hasn't got a clue what to do;
needs hundreds of committees and gab fests to tell him.

Rudd and his cliches are quickly becoming embarrassing.
