I never heard of the bitch until now but I found out she left her children
in Sydney when she moved in with her new husband in Australia. I don't like
her but I have no idea what political party her husband belonged to. I'm
guessing he is a liberal.

I do, I've been to question time like twice. Just because I don't know every
single PM in our history off by heart doesn't mean I'm clueless. I know
Australia has been a federation since 1901 where it became a constitutional
commonwealth and I know the election is between labor and the liberal party
and minor parties like the greens, independents (ok they aren't a party)
democrats, family first etc and that the election isn't for individuals it
is for members of a party that represent (or want to represent rather) your
area and a while lot of other things. So don't say I am clueless just
because I don't know every single PM off by heart. I am sure they are some
Americans who don't know every single president off by heart but that
doesn't make them clueless fools so lay off the name calling, it is unfair
and you know it.
Please Pay Close Attention.
You really were a clueless fool when you claimed Sonia McMahon is a 'bitch'.
That is on the record and is not acceptable when someone is alive
and it is even worse when they are recently deceased. Do you
think her relatives would appreciate your comments ?
You commented on a particular person (Sonia McMahon) while admitting
that you had never heard of her. You are by any definition, ignorant.
Apologise now.

Of course you are referring to Anita "Mole Face" Keating here.
What an ugly bush pig she was! And still is! LOL!
And what an utter embarrassment when Pauly left her for the Indonesian house
boy!
ROFLMAO!
Still and all, I don't know why you take out your anger on
politicians's wives.
As far as I'm concerned, Sonya McMahon was the ideal PM's wife,
appeared where protocol required her and kept heropinions to herself.
Same goes for Margaret Whitlam, Tammie Fraser and Hazel Hawke--
The only time Anita showed her lack of breeding was the time she
snubbed the Queen.
One salutes the office not the person.
OS
Eh? Weren't you taught Australian history at school or maybe only Abo
"dreamtime"?
Yep, Abo dreams helps school leavers land a job!
I wasn't around at the time when the Magna Carta was drawn up nor when
Marie Antoinette was beheaded but what I hadn't learnt at school,
curiosity had me read up in libraries (Google wasn't around at the
time).
You are hopelessly dull, Seon.
OS
Then you shouldn't be posting to aus.politics. I don't profess to know
everything (more like that I can't remember what I had learnt) but
when stuck, I search for the information.
You are a voter, Seon, so it is your duty to know something about the
party you are voting for.
Liberals always stood for economical stability that meant, they didn't
throw money around haphazardly (like Gough and now Kev in 707.
During Gough's short reign, art grants were handed out to writers like
boiled lollies. Books were published in thousands and most carted to
tips because they were unreadable garbage.
That comes under the heading of "waste" in which Labor always
excelled.
OS
Let me correct your grammar, Seon
I use Google, old fart.
Insults, ungrammatically delivered, ricochets on the thrower.

As far as you taking a shot is concerned, suffice to say you couldn't
hit the side of a barn with a scatter gun.
Do you know the full story about this so-called abandoment or is it
something that our leftwing media cooked up?
I lived during that era and didn't hear anything about the matter.
Gossip without solid proof would have landed one in a lot of shit.
The wives of PMs don't always have a choice but have to accompany
their husbands.
As we don't know the full circumstances, it is pure speculation and
therefore, defamatory.
At the age of five years, it was necessary for me to be completely
separated from my family. For a few months, I lived with my
grandparents in a distant town.
It was not a case of abandonment.
Only low-bred curs (very typical of leftards) would capitalise on this
situation.
OS
No he wasn't the guy who took over after Menzies retired.
Fair dinkum, Seon, you're coming across as a retard.
If you don't know something at least exercise the judgement to look it
up.
This ng is specifically about Australian politics and it's
unbelievable that you're not even across the fundamentals.
Shut your fucking mouth, Bawdy rabble , anything you say is idiotic,
poor fool !
By the way, Seon's inversion is quite tell tale indeed 26 while in
fact 62. Was this intentional ole man, or just a typing mistake ?
Then, why would you name an unknown "bitch"?
Anyone who doesn't even know who preceded Whitlam is a juvenile and
shouldn't be voting. That's why Whitlam and Rudd got into power - was
voted in by ignoramuses.
I've known about four good people who voted for the left.. One came
from a classy family but something soured him along the way and he
became a communist. The others were just unworldly.
OS
And were the ones who voted for the Libs all thieves like your family?
That was your admission, olde.sault.

The wife of an unremarkable PM, best remembered for a dress she wore

knowing, people who think they know all but don't and people who
remember a lot but have no idea what it means.
An unbiased mind can be better than one which still blames a PM 35 years
ago for most of today's problems.
Well, Whitlam started the slide. I know what life was before GW became
PM.
Most people were employed. One could leave the car at a station and
feel safe travelling alone on a train. Children were not snatched out
of their mother's arms or out of their bedroom windows.
Whitlam didn't intend to do any harm but easing up on tariffs caused
our industries to go offshore so many of the unskilled were left
jobless, idle.
My late brother was a solicitor and, on one occasion, engaged Whitlam
when Whitlam practised as barrister.
He told me that Whitlam was a hopeless advocate - lost the case as he
lost the plot in politics.
As for Sonya's sensation-causing frock. . . her choice hadn't
revealed any more than women in swimsuit even in those days - nothing

Pretty disgusting, especially those of fat women.
OS
Sonya's dress was only remarkable in the setting in which it was worn.
Accompanying a PM on international business is not the same as a dinner
date.
That is a cheap and nasty comment. She was a very charming, well mannered
and personable woman and no doubt she'll be missed by many who knew her.
It was NOT cut to her navel. It was high at the neck. Your memory is at
fault.

Don't be ridiculous. It's ludicrous that anyone who can remember the
Whitlam years would be so silly that they would think that any party who had
been in Opposition for so long could ever be effective.
The best lesson from the Whitlam years is that governments should be changed

You'd be hard pressed to find any Liberal PM to match Whitlam's list
of accomplishments...
Whitlam abolished conscription and withdrew Australian troops from

Recognised the People's Republic of China... a case of leading US

Banned sporting teams from South Africa thus putting pressure on the
apartheid regime which eventually crumbled. Unlike the Libs who to
their everlasting shame supported tours by teams picked along racial
lines and through that supported apartheid.
Reduced the voting age to eighteen years.
Abolished fees for tertiary education. Recognising its importance,
unlike Howard who cut $5,000,000,000 from education in his first term
in office, ensuring that in the fullness of time Australia becomes the
white trash of Asia.
Abolished the death penalty for Federal crimes.
Declared The Great Barrier Reef a National Marine Park to prevent the
clown prince of Australian politics Jo Bjelke Petersen from drilling
for oil. A man who incidentally the right-wing idiots were touting as
a future PM.
Replaced Imperial Honours with The Order of Australia.
Introduced radio and language programs for ethnic minorities.
Gave equal opportunities to women in Federal Government employment,
appointing women to judicial, administrative and advisory positions.
Introduced FM radio and colour TV.
Established The Australian Film and Television School and Australian
Film Commission.
Introduced welfare payments for single-parent families and homeless
persons.
Replaced "God Save The Queen" with "Advance Australia Fair" as our
national anthem, much to the annoyance of Liberal party supporters.
Attempted to raise loans to "buy back the farm", predictably opposed
by the Liberal Party opposition who had control of
the Senate. Too bad
it never got off the ground. Thanks to the spoiling tactics of the
Liberal Party, Australia is now effectively owned by overseas
interests.
That's why Whitlam is so revered.
Why he gets standing ovations wherever he goes.
Why there is such an outpouring of affection for him whenever he
appears in public?
By contrast, John Howard is all but forgotten. A do-nothing maggoty
little fool remembered for having lost his own seat. LOL
>> Yes, Whitlam really was that bad.

Thank God for that.

is.

That Indian kid who was killed and everyone was pointing the finger
at White Australian racism the other week was living in a normal
residential house with nine people (three or four families)
I would assume they were collectively buying the house but the
thing to consider is that for an Australian family to compete with
these Indians to buy property they will need to be prepared to
get 3 or 4 families together and increase their purchasing and
loan payment financials by living 10 to a household.
no one may seem to have a better idea but it seems to me
a totally restrictive immigration policy is close to a first step
in a solution.
I have a memory problem. Most of the people of my age are eoither dead
or in nursing homes. I still get around, manage a horse farm, still do
the accounting.
I've never been good at remembering names and am getting worse. I
think it was Bill Heffernam.
OS
Is being called "Shitlam" a term of reverence?
OS
A term of ignorance, I would have thought.
OS, your debating skills are - sadly - clearly in decline. In response to a
valid point of view, you resort to the pejorative with *no* supporting
argument.
Sad really. You've brought up some good points lately.

> Recognised the People's Republic of China.
So, according to Whitlam, the conquest of China by murderous Communist gangsters was a legitimate act?
...
Attempting to borrowing money on the national account without the consent of Parliament.
Are there many countries which haven't gone the same way?

The better idea I was referring to, is an alternative to trade with China.
Cooperative property buying is a problem? To me it's just smart, a pity
we Aussies of British descent can't get our act together to do the same.
European immigrants have always done it.
According to Whitlam we had to deal with them, just as other govt's
reckoned we have to deal with many other undesirable govt's.
Yep! Pretty much like every other government on the planet, bar one.
Unlike the Liberal Party's recognition in the United Nations' General
Assembly of the murderous Pol Pot regime.
Agree with that, did you?

Bill Heffernan doesn't wear glasses. However it certainly sounds like
something he'd say. But I seem to recall that you also said it was someone
credible, which can hardly be used to describe Bill. He's famous for being
a leg puller and telling a 2GB audience the death duties were going to be
reintroduced would be well worth doing (at least from his perspective).
And your proof for making that statement is....?
> According to Whitlam we had to deal with them, just as other govt's

Appeasement. Yes, we all know how well that worked out in the '30s.
> And your proof for making that statement is....?
He must have thought they were the rightful government of China, otherwise of course he would not have recognised them
as such.
Name all the countries that haven't recognised China, you vacuous
hayseed.
Whitlam opened relations and trade with China to appease them??
LOL. The world seems to have come to understand appeasement in a different
way since the 30s. Given that China has become such a prominent trading
partner for Australia, is now bankrolling the US economy, and (will
probably) in the next few years/decades be THE major world power, then
appeasement seems to have worked out quite well. (Which of course has
nothing at all to do with the ethics or trustworthiness of the Chinese
Government).
Or perhaps just recognised the reality of a government (regardless of
legitimacy) that had held power for many decades?

Trade with China encourages capitalist ideals and the security of
a Western style Democracy. To boycott China would be to
tip 15 years of progress down the tubes.

living in such a way is a loss of quality of life which would not be
necessary
if we were not inflating the housing market with immigrants.
Europeans have come from countries with a lower standard of living,
so to having houses with running water, sewage or even garbage collections
was a considerable improvement in standard of living. Having achieved
a financial situation where they can enjoy typical Australian standards,
you don't see 3 families to a household in these Europeans.
If that was really true, my point would not be valid.

I was not advocating boycotting it, I was pointing it out as one of
Whitlam's initiatives.

Necessary or not, it's smart. I knew Italians in the 50's who bought a
big comfortable house and the whole family lived in it, they didn't look
to have a low living standard to me. They ate better and made wine which
was better than you could buy. All had a bed.
They probably all owned their own houses when they were 35. Those who
continued with it owned multiple rentals or flats. They weren't peasants
and many drive BMW's now.
No loss!
What a turd you are, bringa, but typical of a Labor stooge.
OS
Why?
1) That dress she wore, cut up to her navel, made her look like a
whore.
2) Billy was as queer as a coot.
3) They did embarrass us when they visited the United States.
4) Her death is no loss to Australians.
Which of the above do you disagree with?
