As a current dingo customer, I am looking for alternative isp that
specifically suits our needs as well as Dingo did. Having watched this
group closely, and following links all over the place, I feel that Ihug is
going to suit us best. It has u/l time, u/l downloads, and does not appear
to have session limits. All for 24.95 p.m. I have read their terms and
conditions, and if we average 12hours per day in a calendar month, or go
above 350 hours, we will be deemed to be a permanent connection and charged
accordingly. So my question is to any ex or existing Ihug users. What, if
anything, am I missing OR what don't they mention?

hrmmm i dont know what ihug are talking about here.

I read about that many months ago when i first read the t and c. At first it
was just a backup isp since I was a isdn user then... but now I am using
them 24/7 (since it is through a linux router which keeps the connection
alive for very long since I dont have to disconnect when i turn my computer
off - upto 3 day sessions at a time)

I have recieved no warning or any extra charges for time online or for
download.

I ended my account a few days ago since I enjoy playing online games and
they have very very bad ping for gaming... but for anything else they are
pretty good.

Use ihug for anything but gaming imho.

no they only cut you off when pop capacity reaches more than 95% and you've
been on longer than 3 hours.

ihug are not the best ISP around, I'm sure you can do better. I haven't used
them since I got cable, but when I did (nearly 2 years ago) their service
was rather terrible. If you're using them for gaming, then don't even
bother, as they route through the US to give 600+ pings. Australian
connectivity is also bad because of the same reason. US downloads are good
though, usually at 4+KBps, but as I said, it's been nearly 2 years so this
information is most likely not releveant now :)

Just go with TPG.. 16.95 for unlimited with 5 hour disconnects.. you'll have
to dial up more but you'll save the $8 a month ont he internet access..
you'll still come out better than before money wise..
