G'day...

I guess now that Tel#tra has had to lower their wholesale ADSL rates, the other
ISP's can compete...

http://www.netspace.net.au/four/products/adsl/home/plans.shtml

I guess a lot of other ISP's will be offering ADSL real soon now...

Anyone else know of any new ADSL providers?

Interesting, they work out availability merely on which exchange you're
connected to.

I wonder what happens if you're off a RIM, which I am and can't get Telstra
DSL, but Netspace reckon I can get theirs.

Interesting.

LOL, for a minute there I thought you meant TPG internet.

I mean, they're not seriously offering DSL at those prices are they?

They're a bit pricey!! They will have to drop their prices if they really want
to compete...

Yeah... seems like Tel$tra's raping of the public over Adsl may finally be
at an end. But they will just recoup their losses elsewhere..

My faxstream duet lines increase shortly.. by a mere 20%... :(
This is after business and residential line rental increasing by 100% in 2
years.

Tel$tra has lost me..

Looks like it... $159 for a gig of data? Hahahaha....

Really, no one is holding a gun to your head and making you subscribe to an
ADSL service. If you think it is *bullshit*, stick with dialup or move to a
cable area.
Warez fans and MP3 pirates are the only people looking for higher included
traffic. Your hip pocket will dictate how badly you want these large traffic
requirements. I think it is a perfect way to sort out the bandwidth hogs
from the rest of the pack.

and without telcos, there are no phone lines to which to install ADSL. also
hybrid cable systems grow on trees, as do continental undersea cables. no
access to russian software sites and kazaa hosts...

I would hardly describe >=2% utilisation of your BPA link as 'leeching'
[3gig over a month on a 512kbit link].

All the people welcoming the new(ish) cap are pathetic and naive simpletons.

Er, 10 gigs? It says 1000Mb. Count the zeroes, only 1Gb there... the
only 10 I see is the 10Mb of webspace you get with the account.

(just hope that 'b' is for bytes, not bits, too :p)

Shane.

IINet,

Express 256k/64 $85 a month for 500mb of data
Corporate 1.5/256 for 500mb of data $125 a month
Commerce $250 512/512 500mb a month
Infinity $399 for unlimited data, 512/128.

Infinity's catch is Bandwidth is reduced when traffic exceeds 10 Gig in one
calendar month.
