Guys,
My parents are looking around for a Goldwing but first off are trying to
find out what to check them mechanically for. They've heard that the
alternator can be a problem but that's it.

So does anyone have any comments on Goldwings, good or bad? Also any other
pointers on the bike themselves.

My Dad an ol' rider from way back but sold his last bike 20 years ago, and
they were thinking of picking up a Goldwing for his 60th. They both love the
style of the thing, but I don't think they've considered anything else.
Should they?

TIA

Pete

Gee, I didn't realise so many choices.

They're looking to buy second hand at this stage, I'd say the 1500 as
they're looking at 1999/2000 models.(?) I'm down Springwood way this
afternoon (Brisbane) and might drop into Shogun and see if they have any
info.

Wings are fine for tourer but personally I would also look at used BMW
R1100RT's they are lighter and handle better. The Kawaka GTR1000, Honda
ST1100, are also worth a look.

Good Luck

If you are looking for Goldwing parts you can always try Frank Milligan. His
price and stock lists are on the web at http://www.goldwing.asn.au
