I'm curious to know if the bracket and pannier cases for a BMW R1100S can be
swapped onto a different model BMW bike? For example only, if I sold my
R1100S in a years time and wanted a R1100R or a R1150 GS or something new
BMW might bring out, would the the pannier set still fit to the other model?
I'm assuming the cases may be a universal fit but the bracket would be
different correct?

Thanks
Matt

That is reasonably correct although one of the panniers for the GS is
smaller to allow clearance for the pipe.

I believe the right panniers are the same across all R bikes and the K12RS -
the left pannier for the GS and K12RS is a special cut-out one to clear the
pipe. Someone also has told me (can't confirm) that if you go with
Staintunes on a GS you can use the standard left pannier.

Yes, if you go for the Staintune low sports muffler on the GS, you can fit the
regular R bike left pannier.

The R1100GS and the R1100R both have a high pipe and consequently a smaller
pannier. You can run a low pipe and a full size pannier (my wife's R11R is
setup this way), you can even buy just a replacement back panel to change
the pannier from small to large or vice versa.
