I think I saw an email a couple of years ago about them,
still in their crates and they don't know what to do with them ?

The photos are genunine as are the Nortons
The future auction is however now a past auction. 2 or 3 years ago now
IIRC the Nortons went for a song, maybe 7K - 10K euro each but I'm likley
mistaken.
Still factor in a strip down & rebuild to replace all seals and gaskets
along with all other perished rubber parts and it's probably all they were
worth.

I recall a few people mentioning at the time that they were one of the least desirable Norton models as well.

That future is now the past.

Nortons went for what seemed at the time to be a song. 7-10K euro each I
recall I think, but I'm often wrong.
Still factor in a complete strip down and rebuild to replace all the seals
and gaskets along with replacing all other perished rubber parts and it's
probably all they were worth to anyone except an anal collector who prides
himself in his "never started" collection. And there were to many on offer
for sales to be limited to those chaps.

The previous owner was apparently a bike shop owner with quite a personality
. If he didn't like you he didn't deal with you and there wasn't many he
liked it seems. He also didn't like selling bikes preferring to keep them,
unless of corse he liked you, which he rarely did. Quite a character they
say, now that he's deceased, when he was alive however they described him a
little differently.

Yes quite right. They didn't vibrate, didn't leak oil like the earlier
models. Had an electric start, long range tank, comftable seat.

Might as well buy a bloody Honda

had dealings with a fellow like that in Brisbane in early 70s'
he would never admit to having any of the items that were rumored to
exist ( brand new vincent fuel tanks) but, if he took a liking to you
would solemnly enter you name, address and wants in a big book.
still waiting for the call :-)

I seem to recall him
wasn't he good friends with the bloke who
knew where there were a container load of brand new US Army Harleys which
had been buried in greaseproof paper under the dry sands of the desert?
Or was it under a football field somewhere?
