Now I didn't have any other bike riders to compare my lap times with
this day as I was the only bike there, but there was a few cars there
and a 2 Super Karts, ( those Super karts are so fast! made me feel
slow!)
What is a good fast lap time for Eastern Creek? in the unlimited bike
classes?
I don't know any riders in Newcastle to ask and the guys at the bike
shops that I have talked to dont know,
Any racers here who can give me a list of lap times? Is there a web
paige that list lap records?
Hope to see you on the track soon..
Allan

gives 1:30.359 as the lap record, set by Criville.
Superbike was a 916 in '96 doing 1:33.25.
Proddy superbike is 1:35.43. set in '98 on a YZF.
Given that, either you should be aiming for a factory ride,
or you need to get electronic timing...

What bike are you riding at the minute.
I apologise if you said it earlier in the thread.
Trev
Proddies run treaded tyres, superbikes run slicks I think.
I don;t have a current rulebook, things I have found on the web
include:
"Rules for the Australian Production Superbike class have been revised
after a meeting of the race team managers at the Phillip Island round of
the Australian Superbike Championship on May 16, according to Cycle News
contributor Darryl Flack. For the 1999 series, Motorcycling Australia
sought to combine the traditional FIM-based Australian Superbikes with
the 1000cc Production Superbike class that was launched in 1998, in a bid
to shore up dwindling grids. After struggling against the superbikes in
the opening rounds, the new 1000c Production Superbike rules allow for
the porting of cylinder heads, modification of the original valves, the
replacement of camshafts, and the alternator may be removed. The minimum
weight for the superbikes has also been increased from 356 pounds to
363 pounds."
Best bet is to contact Motorcycling Australia to get a list
of regs. You have to join a club before you can get a racing
licence, they'll be able to tell you which clubs run which
races, so you can find one that suits.

either that or send your timer back for a warranty repair

Dunlop Slicks,Ohlins forks and shock, Kit cam and Radiator,
Full Kit Exst. and race bodywork.
20 + 80 = 100 laps on the same tyres at that pace ?!?!?!?!
Can you tell me what tyres you were using cos I want a set..????
Ok.. I'm optimistic.
Email me & I'll pass you onto Dave Cullen ( Yamaha Team ) or Peter Doyle
Kawasaki Team ) or a couple of privateer owners..
Where did U used to race & what grade did you get to??
DL
well, 80th time around :)
Zebee
Go get yourself a local licence pronto :)
I suggest you grab copies of Australian Motorcycle News and
CycleTorque, as they have lots of stuff about who is racing what
and where. A bit of detective work should find you the
people to talk to about sponsorship.
IT ain't cheap here either of course, travel is the killer!
But if you can get a start at an ARRC round at the Creek and
end up in the first 5, you'll be noticed. Do it a couple of
times.... You'll have to do the hard graft of finding sponsors
though, even guys like McCoy who got factory GP rides had to
bring some of their own money.
Zebee
I was serious about contacting the factory teams. but obviously you aren't..
Yes I have the contacts..Yes I race.. no I'm not that quick but You an A
grader anyway.me only a B grader.
I have a TZ250 '94 GP bike with substantial improvements/equipment over the
crate model and I'm looking for a rider for this years 250GP ARRC series
starting on 7 March Oran Park.
Team arrangements and rider must supply cash too.
Is Allan under 25 ?
Rohan.

Rob :)
If you did a 1.35 on your first day out contact this team through Daron who
offered earlier they would love to hear from you :-).
A lot of guys can get to 1.37-39's or abouts but only the best go faster.
Call them now.
