Help With Firewire Hard disk

Hello!
I have a problem with my firewire Hard disk. I have an 80gig Seagate
Barracuda V and until recently was working perfectly in the generic Firewire
external case. Then I attached a Firewire Flash Card reader to the other
port on the external firwire hard drive case and the Hard drive disappeared.
The flash card reader was dead on the PC so I was checking it out on my mac
And ithink it killed my Hard drive case. I got a new flash card reader and
that shows up on my mac when plugged into the mac directly but won't show
when connected to external HD. So I gathered the HD case got killed.

Got a new Firewire Case- but still it won't show up.
The hard drive is fine. I've checked it with Seatools etc on the PC And even
resorted to reformatting it on the PC - but still it won't show up on the
mac.

Any Ideas? I recently added another stick of 512mb ram to my G4 Cube.
I'm running OSX 10.2.6 and hav e OS 9.2 also installed. Neither of which
recognise anything connected to the ports- but can see other firwire
peripherals - just not HD's!
