The newest 500MHz iMacs are selling at my local store for $2119. The
previous 500Mhz iMac with 128MB are selling for $1986. They appear to be
exactly the same to me. Is the newest one worth the extra $150?
Thanks in Advance.
Gavin.

in a nutshell, yes. you get that extra 64mb RAM, PLUS an extra 8mb Graphic
Card.

The RAM is nothing as it can be upgraded for less than $150, but the VRAM
cannot. I'd go for the new one.

regards,

John.

not only do you get more video ram, but the card is actually a rage
ultra rather than a rage pro. so the new ones are better.

64mb of pc100/pc133 ram is selling for aud$35. i picked up 256mb of
pc133 ram for $120 recently from a local computer store. it worked
flawlessly on my imac dv+. ram is so cheap these days.

cheers,

donald
