Checked a nationwide Apple retail cahin in Oz today (3rd Oct).
Result : Managing Director sya's they don't know nothing... will get back to
me...
Pathetic.
US posters are crowing about how easy it is to get, but for other countries
we are in a situation of having to *BEG* Apple to *sell* us this
bugfix/service pack.
Absolutely pathetic.

This is not a good sign for the future of OX X & Apple in particular.
The G5 is still vapour ware at a time when Intel P4 2Ghz is shipping & 3.5Ghz
demos have been shown to journos.
I don't care how 'efficient' the MacOS/PPC combo is claimed to be - a
*serious* credibility gap is opening and apple are foolhardy to be
parsimonius with the 10.1 bugfix.
Also I note that 6 months after the release of X, device support has barely
changed, this is not a good sign.
To those of us who have been around, it's looking horribly like the wintel
hegemony has succeeded in suppressing all rivals.
