** Oh dear - I fear this can only end in tears.

Attempting to publicly " blackmail " someone in business in order to get
what you want out of them is highly illegal.

Whatever possible valid claim as an unhappy consumer you had in relation to
the audio gear you bought - it is now almost gone.

I strongly recommend you pull that * way over the top * page down
immediately and rely on the legal process instead.

Take a big breath, calm down and realise that you are not a victim of
anything or anyone but poor luck.

Just like you did when you were rabidly frothing at the mouth about your dud
Quads? BTW it wasn't bad luck in your case it was incompetence on your
part. Failing to test and check antique, *fragile*, second hand gear before

Here's a lad looking for a broken leg,,,,,,,,,,,,

Whatever your problem, I hope you know what your doing, Any and I mean ANY
amicable resolution, has just gone right out the window.
You have now made a personal difference, public, You have made accusations,
which you will need to not only prove but also back-up in court.. And
while you might well be able to afford to take this action. I doubt you
will be able to afford it . IF and WHEN you loose.

While I have never done any business with Trevor Lee's , No one stays in
business as long as he has, if he was to treat his clients , the way you
claim.

Personal if I was TL, I would take everything you have, and leave you
sitting on your arse in the gutter, where you obversely belong.

And your link to the full story does not work, or I could not access your
account of whatever has your knickers in such a twist. So your left with
an unsubstantiated accusation. Good luck, sunshine, your gunna need it.

Not *one single word* was posted about that matter UNTIL the case had
gone fully through the CTTT (ie Fair Trading) Tribunal and a full refund
cheque had arrived and been cleared.

Perhaps so Baz, but TL isn't exactly a saint.
Over the years there have been a few public allegations of less than
honourable dealings.
How many of them are true? Well that's another matter.

Trevor Lees, pardon my asking, but is there anyone left to fool? I
could understand if this were seven years ago, when people were still
confused about who you are.

I have a feeling that, since you are a diagnosed psychotic with a criminal
record, you may not realize that many, if not most, normal people have the
ability to recognize the personality in the writing. I understand you enjoy
cartoons, and you may think that people are as dumb as cartoon characters,
but that is not the case. Real people can be dumb one minute, and smart the
next, but they catch on, they become more attuned as time goes by. Just as
with your recent "joke", your all your posts have a crudeness to them that
is easily recognized. And you can't do better, because you are up against
the limits of your brain.

Think about it: For twenty years you've lived the life of a wannabe crook
and high end hi-fi fraudster, yet all you ever succeeded in getting were a
few gadgets. You're a terrible failure as a criminal.

But most of all, you really are a broken record, with a skip in the groove.
You've been blasting the same stuff out for seven years. Enough people have
come to know you so well that the newbies who don't are quickly educated.

Trevor, you are a mental health poster child. I'm sorry about your
Kleinfelter's Syndrome, with the extra "X" chromsome, but I didn't give it
to you. I'm sorry about your impotence, but I didn't give that to you
either. Your genetic defect has made you vulnerable to mental illness, but
you've been offered medication that would allow you to live a somewhat
normal life. I'm sorry you have a criminal record, but you committed the
crime. BTW, what crime is that?

But Trevor, some things are within your control. When you post something
obscene or crazy in my name, it boomerangs on you, because people know you
are the author. This is something you can still change. If you stopped doing
this, you might be able to pick up in a few years. The world forgives,
eventually. Try giving it a chance.

It's not his band, and he is not in the photo. None of the individuals in
the resemble him in the least. Trevor Lees has an extremely protrusive
lower jaw, and a dental anomaly known as an "overjet", where the lower
teeth mesh in front of the uppers. When I saw him, he kept his mouth clamped
shut. Perhaps he wishes to establish that he looks like someone else. That
would be the holy grail of disguise.

One of his "tactics", so to speak, is to imply that there are many Trevor
Lees in the world, and that I think all of them are him. For example,
he has in the past referred to another Trevor Lees from Sydney, a
person of color, who was convicted of violent crime. But the reason for
these posts is unclear.

From http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0565388/#actor , he has had bit parts in
several movies:
Sweet Dreams (1985) (uncredited) .... Alto Saxophonist
Rhinestone (1984) (uncredited) .... Rhinestone Club DJ
Footloose (1984) (uncredited) .... Nerdish High School DJ

Someone extracted a still from "Sweet Dreams", and posted it. I have seen
the photo, and it obviously is him even though there is no evidence of any
"Kleinfelter's disease" but it is an old picture. Factor in gray
hair and a lot of loose skin around his neck, and it might be useful. If you
are good at facial expressions, it might be noticed, on personal encounter,
that his expressions are rather artificial, and limited.

TT, I've dealt with Trev over many years & he's never sold me a pup, in fact
he even had a switch on my Golden Tube SE-40 repaired when it was a very
difficult job at no cost to me.

I have bought a lot of damn good gear from him (and Christopher) including
about 100 LP's all of which were gems. The only point of issue I have ever
had with him was the price he sold my Sony 9000 Series A/V setup for, but
that was my fault for not specifying a price!

As someone else has said, you don't stay in business as long as Trev has by
being a crook. Some customers can be very difficult, and as I have a pretty
short fuse, I wouldn't take much sh*t from them before I threw them out the
door either.

I bought an Audiolab 8000T tuner from Trev back in the late 90's and it
performed so well I sold my McIntosh. Later I bought a Denon TU-1000RD tuner
from Trev which
was also a very good performer,
Then Trev offered me a Denon TU-1500RD which I jumped at it as it only cost
me a couple of hundred dollars (he traded the TU-1000RD back) and I ended up
with the finest tuner I've ever heard & which I still have it today.

Trev a crook? Nah, not in my experience. Eccentric? A little, Doesn't suffer
fools gladly? Neither do I! So Scott, whilst I'm not doubting the fact that
Trev might have pissed you off, perhaps if you revisit the exercise you
might understand just where it went pear shaped.

Ruff

Trevor might have gone insane in the past 30 years, but he seemed pretty

had an enlargement sent to her. I remember eating expensive Swedish granola

I wished you'd removed my comment about the granola. It was initially very
confusing.

The klystron put out 5kW or 20kW, I forget which. There was enough voltage
on the anode to fry you, so you had to be careful, even though there were
interlocks a-plenty.

Hmmm.... well yes there were signs of someone having placed their greasy

However, without forensic evidence to prove they belonged to TL or one of
his staff, one is up the proverbial creek without a paddle so to say proving
it.
Good news is that the TA-P9000ES multi-channel pre-amplifier hasn't missed a

What frequency ? I've studied a few books on WW2 radar history and klystrons
simply weren't up to it (certainly power wise - or noise wise as receivers)
back then.

Visit your local UHF television station and check out the finals. Varian
makes them REALLY BIG now.

I am not sure just what frequency and power the magnetron becomes more
cost-effective than the klystron, but things have sure advanced in both
designs since the war.

Klystrons are primarily used as amplifiers, magnetrons as generators.

Illegal. And it reduces you to the same sleazy level as them.

They don't even have their abuse email address configured on their
server. They clearly don't care about abusive customers.

Note that Buzzardnews is a subsidiary of a larger (and seeming
more prestigious and higher-profile) company. That holding org
is the entity to pursue. http://www.californiaprimeline.com/

Isn't there a way to appeal to THEIR connectivity provider if they
are unresponsive? If UUNET (or whomever) threatens to cut
them off, they will listen (or go out of business).

Thats a long way to travel just to install a klystron, especially when
there were a whole bunch of guys there quite competent to do such a job
(or at least there were when I left there in '74)

I didn't make the decision.

Installation included a new control panel and a step-motor system that reset
the klystron for six pre-tuned channels. This made it possible to change
bands in a few seconds, rather than having to run out (or up!) to the
klystron and do it by hand, which would have taken at least 15 minutes --
considerably longer if you had to climb to the electronics room under one of
the larger antennas.

This was hardly difficult, and technically, utterly trivial. But we were
familiar with the procedure, and therefore could do it more quickly than you
could have.

There was also the issue of confirming the klystron's tuning. It turned out
that NASA's procedure was completely invalid, and I discovered it. 35 years
later, I remain amazed that I was the first person to "think outside the
box" and discover that it was wrong, and why. I have to thank Dr. Goldfinger
(yes!) at Varian for unknowingly giving me the hint that resolved the
problem. (Hint: HP point-contact detectors sucked mightily.)

Did Trevor get fried by a renegade klystron or exposed for too long by
putting his head into a microwave over with the safety switches bypassed?

At Island Lagoon tracking station we had a 10KW transmitter 3 watts in
to the Klystron at 2150MHz 10KW out. The power supply was 20KV at 1 Amp,
and people are impressed by a 1KV supply in a tube amp :) Worked pretty
effectively controlling spacecraft out to Mars (13 minutes round trip
light time). Klystrons are used as local oscillators in most low noise
microwave receivers such as perametric amplifiers or masers.

At RRE in Malvern they had a 20ft tall klystron with an output in the
megawatt range at S-band. The thing had lead shielding around the anode
to stop the secondary X-ray emissions from the anode. the power supply
was the 33KV grid charging a somewhat large 1uf capacitor.

Ok I have a couple of questions to answer here

? by posting on a website I have screwed myself for a resolution
Yeph, I though that. but I also thought that when I last walked out of
the shop @10:15 on a Sat morning with Trevor screaming if i ever
wanted to see my money again I would have to go to small claims. I had
the confirmed when he told Consumer Affairs were to go. I guess I will
find out either way in VCAT on 10/12. I will update the blog with the
results.
? Trevor's right to respond
Please do... I have sent blog links to his 2 email address on the his
websites. It would be nice to get some answers that weren't screamed
at me, peppered with abuse in front of a store full of people. I dont
think the people posting on the website are either Trevor or Chris.
But if they do respond I will post what they send.
? Trevor Lees must be doing something right to stay in business
I'd agree and that why my friend recommended the place. But I am
struggling to see it right now. believe me, I wish i was one of those
guys who has never had a problem with him.
? how do I think it will end
Poorly. I dont think I was ever going to get my money back, once he
got it. Everything from that point has just confirmed it. Either way
you cut it I have lost, I've been out of pocket and system for 6mths.
The blog is just a way of informing people what happened to me. What
people do with the information is up to them. If I have mis-
represented anything, I am sure I will hear about it.

If it's any consolation I have seen TL perform and have been thrown out of

when his van keys went missing. Poor Christopher copped it, both barrels,

I don't know your case so I won't comment and besides, that's what the Dept.

One more note. It is a curious fact of McCarty's mind that it is porous to
some kinds of external suggestion. In Brian L. McCarty's perception of
reality, which is very shallow, he places inordinate importance on symbols,
badges, identities and, especially, his own name. A historical observation
is appropriate. Prior to a certain year, McCarty actually signed all his
posts in caps, exactly as "BRIAN L. MCCARTY". The same block lettering has
appeared on faxes threatening lawsuits. Then, quite suddenly, he switched
entirely to the use of stolen or fictitious identities. Perhaps not
coincidentally, this occurred after a public lecture by me to Mr. Brian L.
McCarty that he did not have a good name; that his name was, in fact, a bad
name.

In McCarty's mind, because he is so fixated on symbols, there is a complete
difference between his exact name and any variant: Bwian, MacCarty,
MacCarthy, McCarthy, etc. In his mind, he is completely shielded from
association when someone posts using a variant.

As we seem to have so few tools that actually make a difference, I urge
everyone, if they choose to respond to a post, to use his exact name: "Brian
L. McCarty." As far as I can tell, it's the only thing he actually doesn't
like, because he has been trying, fruitlessly, to break the association
between that name and his criminal activities for at least five years.

I thought that it sounded exotic when I first heard of it, the reality
was that it was a salt lake in the South Australian desert with a large
pile of rocks in the middle. On the "Shore" was JPL Deep Space Station

Firstly, I have never met TL.
That said, I have read a lot over the years regarding his behaviour,
along with other people who claim to have experienced no such thing.
Usually the story is consistently the same - that goes for both camps.

I get the impression that both yourself *and* those directly
contradicting your experience here could easily be interchangeable, in
that there seems to be a *very* fine line between setting TL off or not.

I personally decided quite some time ago to not deal with him.
In all probability I wouldn't have any problems - but based on those who
have written about his behaviour over the years (and there has been
many), and specifically /how/ he behaves - well, if I encountered it, I
know wouldn't react to it very well at all. So, I'd rather not take the
chance.

PS: you need to work on the composition of your posts - a bit hard to
read.

How come you are on the side of Trevor Less who appears to have acted as
an alleged Rogue Dealer?

What GOOD BUSINESS PEOPLE should always have in mind is customer
satisfaction.

If a business sells a lemon, there should be no argumewnt, and sellers
should be prepared to return the money for a return of goods.

I bought a Variac from Jaycar last year for $179 whch lasted a month
before it internally melted down and without blowing any fuse. Jaycar
took it back, but sent it to a tech for close examination, and after 6
weeks and two phone calls fromj me just to let them know I'd never
forget they'd said that'd examine it, they offered me a replacement unit
which I refused, but they did give me a refund. OK, fair enough. I
thought the build quality of the variac was horrid aftr I'd initially
bought it, audible hum, and inside it just looked quite crook.
But my relationship with Jaycar remains intact, despite the little
trouble I had with this crummy cheap Chinese import.

Bunnings Hardware store here in Canberra sold me a $20 soldering iron.
They also sold $60 Weller irons, but they only lasted 18mths so I
reckoned that if I got 6mths from Chinese iron I'd be even. But the
Chinese soldering iron lasted only 1mth, so I returned it and they
smiled and gave me a new one immediately, not once, but again when the
second iron failed.
So I had a good look at the iron and it glowed slightly dull red with
the tip removed so I figured it didn't like the high mains voltage we
have here which often goes to 255Vrms. So I made a metal box with some
resistances within and a GPO especially for the iron so that it now gets
only 200V to 220V. The irons now last more than 18mths, so problem
solved.

On more than one occasion I have had customers accuse me of damaging
their goods after I'd attemtped to repair them. One drop dead gorgeous
blond shiela brought me two crummy 3 in 1 sound systems where the CD
player had become faulty. I employ a tech who repairs such stuff day in,
day out, and his successs rate is over 90%. We don't charge if we cannot
fix something, even if we've spent day on it and bought a workshop
manual. Anyway, we fixed one unit within 2 weeks, and she rings up
wanting to pick up both units but the second unit was a real problem,
and we have to buy a manual, but the manual wasn't much help, and we
have to buy a part, then another, and after a month still no fix.
meanwhile this shiela is getting quite angry with me and finally we give
up trying to fix unit two, and I phone to tell her to pick up unit one,
for $50. She arrives with boyfriend, and they have a look at the unit I
cannot fix and accuse me of further damaging the unit.
I found this hard to believe. Its a unit that one might buy at a garage
sale for $20, or maybe pull from a dumper bin. Two against one. So they
come out with this crap that I would have to pay another repairer and
compensation for the damage they claimed I had caused.
I stood calmly as they made their accusations, but thinking that this
beautiful girl needed a bit of a hot soldering iron up her cunt to teach
her some respect, and I said that I would happily listen to any further
claims and make any payments requested, but only if they had a court
order to make me do so, NO PROBLEM, I said. I gave them back both units,
and refused the $50 payment for unit one repair, and wished them good
luck if they ever found anyone more able to repair their gear. Of
course, had they returned if the one unit we did repair had broken
again, they'd be no service because they'd be no warranty on a repair
they had not paid for. I could happily close the door in their face. Had
a legal battle resulted from this petty matter, then Mis Gorgeous would
have been up against me and my tech. And if they lost they'd have to pay
costs, and some hundreds of dollars more than the repair of the gear.
Solving the problem by remaining calm and getting these arsoles off my
premises at a small loss to me was a better end than a court case. Most
people I deal with a very polite and reasonable and realise that much
modern gear is not made to last, and that repair people cannot always be
relied upon to make low priced gear last a double lifetime.

Another customer brought two 30 year old speakers to me for a fix for
new foam speaker surrounds. When I touched the foam surround around the
tweeter on one speaker, it too gave way, and I said the repairs would
have to include more than just the bass driver surround. This guy just
takes his speakers away and says he'll "think about it". An hour later
he re-appears, led down the driveway by his father, a red headed scot,
and I could see that trouble was visiting, so needed to remain calm and
firm. "I don't like the way you spoke to my son" he starts,
and "you've damaged these speaker..." and more hot blah blah. I calmly
siad the speakers had more faults than they'd thought, and needed more
work to repair them. That went over badly, as they didn't like to accept
the fact their precious ancient budget buy from 30 year ago was
completely fucked. I said to them they were most welcome to take
whatever legal action they wished against me, but there was nothing I
could do for them now. Certainly not perform a free repair, and not
after the way they'd treated me. But I didn't have to spell that out for
them.
They left, and maybe they'd calm down about it all.

The OP on this thread has my sympathy. I hope he gets his $2,800 from
Trevor Less. I wouldn't cry one single tear if the whole buying public
boycots Trevor Less as a result of the Internet Exposure Mr Less has
been subjected to. If Mr Less is pissed off, let him come forth and
explain his side in This Forum Now. If the Legal System would
immediately become prejudiced against the claimant against Trevor Less
as a result of the claiment making public his experience then the Law is
an Ass, is it not?

Its a free country I say, and disgruntled customers have every basic
human right to tell what they consider the truth publicly about their
shopping expereiences. The Shop Owners have every right to fair trade,
as long as it is conducted fairly, and with rights come a duty of care
to the buyer. Has not Mr Less heard of the idea that The Customer is
Always Right? Its a basic premise every business must accept even when
they know a buyer is wrong if they want to get good press and freedom
from court actions.

Let us see if Mr Less can resolve the looming battle over $2,800 and
regain his public reputation by settling out of court like a gentleman.

I've been operating in my own businesses as a Sole Trader for 27 years,
and I've had to learn that you cannot make a win every single day of
your working life; sometimes you have to just take a slight loss now and
again, and I hope Mr Less realises this firm tennet of conducting
busienss in Oz where we believe in a fair go. But my losses sustained
are utterly trifling compared to the living I have made, and probably
gained me some good-will. I have never been taken to court, and never
needed to take anyone else to court.
I don't let the sun set on my anger.

Could Mr Less come forward here to explain his business ethics to all?
Is it not reasonable that we could request his presence here to explain
problems he gets now and again, and especially when it appears he has a
problem right now?

Patrick Turner.

I need to clear some points up here again.

> ..." He said he was attacked and abused by TL.."
Nope, I was just abused, not attacked. Twice in the store, both times
in front of customers (although they quickly left when Trevor got in
the mood.)
The general theme was that I was stupid and wasting everyones time.
The first time, when I returned the gear as agreed. This was a @20min
"robust" discussion, with Trevor. When "anal retentive" was being
screamed at me, my partner left the store. After 15 or so minutes of
getting nowhere, I tried another tack and agreed to listen to some
quad gear, if good enough I would purchase that instead. Suddenly
Trevor was my best friend again. "No problems, I will have the gear
down from sydney in a couple of days.."
The 2nd time was when, after a fortnight of been given the run round,
the replacement quad still hadn't arrived. This time I was back to
being a stupid time wasting prick. " you want your refund.. never
going to happen.. go to small claims and good luck with that..." my
response.. "Ok Trevor I will."

>.."defamation" ..
If the website is an "defamation" issue as you say, it would be
treated separately.
As for the impact on the VCAT case, I am trying to convince the
adjudicator that goods were not of mercantile quality and I was
mislead at the point of sale. I have tried to work things out with
him, but nothing ever came of it. Hence I should get a refund. Trevor
will probably say, that he has followed his legal responsibilities and
is under no obligation to do anything more.

>...bizarre internet hate TL page...
I wouldn't call it "bizarre", its just way of get the word out. As I
have said before you can take it or leave it. But if you get stitched
up too, you cant say you weren't told.

> ..."quite idiotic customer"
If I buy something i expect it to work more than a month before
breaking. If it does break I expect the guy who sold it too me to sort
it out. If it / replacements break 5 times in under 2 months, I expect
a refund. If this makes me "idiotic" so be it. Trevor seemed to think
the same thing.

>...."If Mr Less is pissed off, let him come forth and explain his side.."
Yes please or if he could just fire a comment off to my blog that
would be good as well.
www.high-fidelity.com.au

I don't think what I have asked for is unreasonable. I would have
though this supported by consumer law, but as pointed out too me on my
blog "dealer discretion" plays a huge part in this process. As also
pointed out to me, the case may not be as clear cut as I think. If I
do lose the case, I want everyone what happened and why.

Phil, you display your inconsistent abilities at judging human
bevaviour.
Don't be alarmed, most people have this trouble in varying degrees.

There is NO REASON why Trevor Less should not front up here to give his
account of what happened between himself and the disgruntled customer
who feels robbed because he says he bought a lemon, ie, a bit of gear
that performed woefully. He says he took it back to where he bought it,
and the trader accepts it back but refuses a refund. To me the
performance of the Trader stinks. If the courts say otherwise, so be it.

The courts can be the place where matter is resolved regardless of how
much the fight is publicised on the Net. The public has the right to
examine the gory details, and all parties have a duty of care for the
truth, so the public may see who was right and who was wrong, and
whether or not they should trade with Mr Less.

But I'd hate to ever be in a position where I was named publicly as
being a Rogue Trader who insults customers and gives them a bum deal.
I avoid this possibility by accepting little losses because I realise
you just cannot win all the time.

The case of how I used the Variac I bought from Jaycar isn't something
you have much knowledge about.

So how come you make conclusions based on your inadequate knowledge of
the facts involved?

The policy of Jaycar about refunds sums to a normal business reluctance
to give refunds for gear that fails just after purchase like the variac
did. Businesses often will try to pin some blame for failures on a
customer having abused the goods purchased in order to
avoid the refund payment. Businesses sometimes have an attitude that
some members of the public deliberately try to tell lies to get money.
And there are some real stinker customers out there Phil, as I explained
in the post you snipped to shreds.
But probably there are more stinker businesses than customers who are
not in business and definately mostly not in the business of defrauding
stores selling goods.

So When i fronted the Jaycar store with a fucked Variac, I thought it
quite normal they'd *not* gladly give me back $179 straightaway.

But they listened to my claims, then wrote a receipt for the acceptance
of the return of goods, and they explained to me that the Variac would
have to be assesed by a technical person. One might assume such a person
might have been biased in favour of Jaycar. But 6 weeks later when I
visited the store when they had the tech's report, they were happy to
refund the money. They didn't have any details in a report to read to
me, but the tech must have concluded the Variac was shoddy, a lemon in
fact,
and that there was no sign of my having abused it.

I rest my case Phil.

And I do know how Variacs work.

The previous Variac which I had used for 10 years was a small 100W rated
type which was made in England and its demise and replacement wasn't
from subjecting it to excessive currents for too long. And sometimes it
did cop a bashing from some bloody amplifier with a fucked power supply
or one that shorted while under test, but a quick hand to the mains
switch prevented damage for a very long time.
But it finally failed due to a drop to a concrete floor which nudged an
internal sharp internal metal edge against the toroidal transformer
winding which severed many wires which I could not repair effectively.

The Jaycar Variac failed with loadings which were much lower VA than
what I had been using with the UK made variac.

Its fuse did not blow.

I now have 3 identical 150VA transformers taken from second hand
amplifiers of zero value and they have multiple taps on their
secondaries and I plan to arrange them so I can switch the output
voltages from the taps over a wide range to perform the same job as a
variac for testing amplifiers. Unfortunately, purchasing a really good
variac with genuinely good quality is too expensive an option for me.

I am a transformer expert as you claim I say about myself. Thousands of
people have found my educational web pages on transformers to be very
informative and helpful and empowering so they can wind their own. I get
over 500 hits a day at my site.

I have had to just become a deeper expert on transformers because I am
about to launch several new web pages listing hundreds of tube amp power
transformers, output transformers and chokes which will be available for
the public who like to build things of their own.
I know more about the transformer parameters of all this stock than the
bloke who wound them or the entrepreneur who ordered them for the amps
he sold. Unlike many traders, I force myself to know all about what I
sell, and with regard to lemons, the buck stops here.

I deeply respect your knowledge of electronics Phil.

We all have our place in the world Phil.

Okay dickhead, what is the OP legally entitled to, seeing you reckon you're
so fucking smart and in full possession of the facts?
A replacement toaster? A metric handful of complimentary tickets to the
local knock shop?
Gees, Phil you are a laugh a minute - NOT.
Get back to doing what you know best - replacing jug elements and fucking
flippy toasters.

Don't forget the exemplary way Philthy conducted his own "Online hate
campaign" against Campsie hi-fi over his dud Quads?

Yeah, our Philthy is the perfect hypocrite.

Yes, how could one forget that episode (or more correctly saga).
Amazing just how well he managed to completely stuff up a pair of ESLs in a
few minutes with a screwdriver, tampering with stuff he clearly knows bugger
all about. Then has the audacity to complain he got sold a pup. Phil: more
moves than a Swiss watch - or is that an "Erotic Lolita" toaster?

I agree. It was a pity the thread was not better labelled,
"My experience with Trevor Lees Audio" might have
been more appropropriate. If he has carefully documented
the dates and times of each visit and what took place, and
if TL still has the goods and the money, I cannot see how
the plaintiff can fail (particularly if he can call on third-party
witnessees who were customers in the shop at the time..

Surely it is the distributor (not the dealer who is responsible
for waranty repairs. Is TL the official distributor?

Phil, you are making up lies and confabulated stories about how I
destroyed something I bought from Jaycar.

The tech employed by Jaycar to examine the failed variac would disagree
with you.
He approved my claim and Jayacr gave me the refund.

Don't become a stupid imbecile the moment someone like me who knows what
he is talking about opposes what you say with an alternative opinion.

The majority of educated people have an intense dislike of the secrecy
of the courts.
They wish all is above board and transparent. They DO want to know what
people are really like with whom they mght deal with.

The fact that someone is proposing to go to court over an argument over
$2,800 with a dealer in Hi-Fi gear indicates there is a problem between
the two parties, and it may be that either one is "in the wrong" The
courts realise that and will make a judgement based on truth and facts
submitted as evidence, and whatever we say here won't affect the
outcome.

The argument which seems to be leading to court action against Mr Less
has been described here and if I was Mr Less I would settle matters out
of court and be able to post here in detail how he achieved an
acceptable outcome.

People would then see that Mr Less is indeed a gentleman, and capable of
"looking after business problems" and if this cannot be seen to be the
case by the reading public, then he does his business no good by
persuing what is a sullen silence until his day in court.
And if the court decides in favour of the claimant, that will become
public knowledge and not be good for Mr Less.

The courts cost everyone time and money. Time and money should not be
wasted.

I have never been afraid of the world knowing all about my private life
and I have avoided the arguments people get themselves into such as
those described by the original poster in this thread.

Those operating a business have all sorts of rights as do customers.

And along with rights there are duties of care.

Nobody should be protected from the glare of public scrutiny if they end
up in court over some matter or other.

Patrick Turner.
