Hello,

I was looking at purchasing a pair. I believe that the RRP was about
3800.00.

Any thoughts on these speakers or any links to reviews ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Mark.

Howdy Mark,

I've heard them, and they sound very, very good. It uses the same tweeter
(Seas Excel T25-001) and woofer type (Seas Excel W-series magnesium) as the
VAF Signature speakers. The treble is extended, mid-range is very clear, the
mid-bass (as with most bookshelf speakers) a bit err "strong" but overall,
not a bad little speaker. For roughly the same price, consider the Dynaudio
Contour 1.3MkII as well. For significantly less in price, consider the
Equinox Solstice - sounds very comparable to the Dynaudio.

If you are set on the Jamo and it's nice goldy-pointy woofers etc, perhaps
it might be better to go for the VAF Signature I-66 at roughly the same
price ($4000)? You get a hell of a lot more speaker in size terms anyway.
Same drivers/tweeters etc. Similar sound.

Cheers,
Mal

I listened closely to the Concert 8 when it came out. Clear, detailed,
spacious but with a tendency to bite in the midrange. The Concert 11
and the VAF I-66 do not have this character fault. I'd guess because
the driver isn't "happy" delivering bass.

Vintage Sound also use these drivers

I hope this helps.

**My friend owned the Concert 8, but sold them to upgrade to some large Kef
Reference floorstanders. I found them to be very good in the mids, but the
top was a tad fatiguing.
