audio broadcast unit for home theatre?

I have an Epson home theatre projector with a long single HDMI cable
running from near my screen, up through the ceiling, and to the
projector. I use an HDMI switching unit to connect my two main players
-- an Oppo BDP-83 and a Panasonic tuner/hard-drive recorder.
Trouble is (and I've used three switching units so far) I have no
problem at all with the Oppo, but I'm guessing the Panasonic output
isn't strong enough as the video signal keeps going on and off when
through the switching unit. When I go to the cumbersome bother of
disconnecting the switching unit and connecting the direct HDMI unit,
everything is fine. The signal just doesn't seem to want to go through
the switching unit.
So. I figure I can move the Panasonic to be physically located next to
the Epson, with a short (one meter) HDMI cable that will plug directly
into the Epson's second HDMI input. That should solve that problem.
But then I'm without audio! I can connect to a B and W Panorama
Soundbar via either optical, co-ax or RCA analog. Is there some sort
of unit which will plug into any of those and emit a radio-sound which
can be picked up by a receiver which plugs into the Soundbar? I can't
run a long audio cable from the Panasonic to the Epson as I don't want
to have to hire an electrician again to lift up the roof iron and lay
the cable!
Hope someone can help.

There are FM transmitter kits by Ramsey, if you don't mind building it.
From memory there is a basic one and a better version with a more
stable oscillator, which costs a bit more but probably preferable if you
have decent sound equipment and highish expectations. I built the other
one and it is certainly OK for this use.

If you want high quality stereo then I can recommend your computer
synced to an Airport express. This can be a digital connection if you
have a decoder into your stereo, or it can be analog.

All control can be run through iTunes and if you have an iPhone, then
the Remote app can control it all.

Trouble is I don't use my computer for hi fi applications. Just my top-
end blu ray player (Oppo BDP-83) and a Panasonic 250 gig hard drive
recorder, which is the unit I'd like to connect by wireless means to
my amplifier.

Try running a HDMI breakout box. It turns hdmi into serveral outputs and
should amplify the signal. I use one to run HDMI around the house to four
places. I got it on ebay for very little money.
