Anyway, I have successfully killed several trees before (during a
short stint in Brunei, but never an 80-foot one, less an oak tree.
But should suffice.
I dug small trenches around the trunk, or drip line and then poured
petrol. But for an 80-footer, this will take one heck of a long time
for the tree to die. Besides that plot of land will be useless for
anything else for a while until the petrol biodegrades (if ever). The
first symptom that the tree is dying: leaves will start to dry and
shed leaving the entire tree bald as in winter. And then the bark
starts to peel. But beware that for an 80-foot tree, the dead roots
may not be able to hold it up and may be easily uprooted during a
storm.
Hope this helps.

It seems you may be a US poster, but trees can be a problem in any region.
You can obtain tree killer poison from a garden supplier. It needs to
be diluted with kerosene, and then dripped into holes in the lower tree
trunk. Make a dozen holes with a drill, or use a small hatchet to cut
some deep slots into the trunk, so you can pour some poison in.
If you are not near a garden supplier, you could just try ringbarking
the tree. I don't know whether the oak responds to ringbarking or not.
Bare the bark all the way around the circumference, creating a 2" or 3"
wide groove where the tree has no bark, all the way around, cutting deep
into the tree's wood to disrupt its circulation. It may not be until
well into summer before the tree begins to show signs of distress. In
the following summer season, it may begin to sucker below the ringbark.
Eventually, of course, the dead tree will have to come down, one way
or another. If you can bring it down, you have some control over which
direction it falls. That's the theory, anyway. :-) In practice, falling
trees are strongly attracted towards fences, vehicles, and roofs.

glyphosate, undiluted, all over new growth and perhaps in axe cuts in the bark
as well.
When it dies, be careful none of the branches are going to fall on anything, or
you'll be in deep shit.
