I'm a TV addict, so it's really something for me to say...
I lost interest in it about half way through. I kept thinking "this is
going to happen" then it did. I know some of this stuff is pretty
predictable, but it was just *too* predictable for me tonight.
i'm up to ep. 13 :) Gets better too!
The last ep I saw was really good, they had a brilliant ending for it.
DH was a sneaky buggar last night ... I had forgotten it was on, but had a
shower early enough that I would have lucked onto the show ... but I came
out of the bathroom to find DH ensconced on the couch with DH *insisting* we
had to watch some boring program on cars. He rarely insists on anything on
the TV, so I let him have his way and I went and did the dishes / cleaned
the kitchen instead (technically his job as I made dinner).
BUT now I realise that he figured that I'd want to watch DespHW and made
damn sure I wouldn't realise it was on....

"A primetime soap with a truly contemporary take on "happily every after,"
this hit series takes a darkly comedic look at suburbia, where the secret
lives of housewives aren't always what they seem.
The series began with Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) leaving her perfect
house in the loveliest of suburbs -- and ending it all. Now she takes us
into the lives of her family, friends and neighbors, commenting from her
elevated P.O.V.
Her circle of girlfriends on Wisteria Lane include Susan Mayer (Teri
Hatcher), the divorcee and single mom who will go to extraordinary lengths
for love; Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), who recently went from being a
stay-at-home mother of four back to her fast track career in advertising;
Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross), Martha Stewart on steroids, whose recent
widowhood has completely reeked havoc on her perfect life; and Gabrielle
Solis, the ex-model with everything she's ever wanted - a rich husband, a
big house, and now a baby to go with it all. the problem is she's not sure
who the father is; and serial divorcee Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan), the
free spirited real estate maven whose love life has everyone buzzing. Enter
newcomer Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard) and her handsome teenage son,
Matthew (Mehcad Brooks), who mysteriously moved into a house they'd never
seen in the middle of the night.
Then there are the men: Mike Delfino (Jamie Denton), a supposedly widowed
plumber who has won Susan's heart; Lynette's adorable husband, Tom (Doug
Savant), who volunteered to be "Mr. Mom" so his wife can go back to work;
Gabrielle's better half, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira), who is currently
in jail and recently learned of his wife's infidelities with John (Jesse
Metcalfe), the gardener; and Mary Alice's widowed husband, Paul (Mark
Moses), who is on the run from the demons in his past.
From her unique vantage point, Mary Alice sees more now than she ever did
alive, and she's planning to share all the delicious secrets that hide
behind every neighbor's closed door in this seemingly perfect American
suburb.
Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as
Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van De Kamp, Eva Longoria as Gabrielle
Solis, Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt, Alfre Woodard as Betty Applewhite,
Brenda Strong as Mary Alice Young, James Denton as Mike Delfino, Doug Savant
as Tom Scavo, Ricardo Antonio Chavira as Carlos Solis, Mark Moses as Paul
Young, Cody Kasch as Zach Young, Andrea Bowen as Jenna Mayer, Shawn Pyfrom
as Andrew Van De Kamp, Joy Lauren as Danielle Van De Kamp, Mehcad Brooks as
Matthew Applewhite and Jesse Metcalfe as John.
Marc Cherry (The Golden Girls) is executive producer and creator and Tom
Spezialy (The District, Ed) is executive producer of the series, which is
from Touchstone Television."

nothing much of consequence.

I have a d/h calendar in my office. I gave it to SWMBO for a birthday
present. She verily scoffed and hung it up in my office. Feb's quote
is "How you you feel if I used your child support payments for plastic
surgery?" - Susan.
Can't say I got into d/h, I'm more of a Teachers & Little Britain (which
does sail very close to the wind at times) type person. Another
favourite has been Carnivale. It's a pity it finishes this Sunday. I
believe HBO cancelled the 3rd series. HBO should "shake some dust".
OTOH: some people can take fandom a bit too seriously methinks

They're my type of show too. I've never watched Carnivale.
I just downloaded the 3rd series of LB. I was too keen, only six
episodes, it went too fast.
I also love my Thursday night ABC with Teachers and Cutting It.
I think Carnivale is fantastic (in the true sense of the word) although
not very funny. I like the dark vein it mines. I think it might be the
dark veins that appeal in Teachers & Little Britain.
Sorry, but it's not going to happen. :(
You can get your fix at http://www.hbo.com/carnivale/ with episode
guides for both serieses (he resists the temptation to do a Golem
impersonation)
> My favs atm are teachers and cutting it,my really trashy show is greys
> anatomy.
Haven't seen Grey's Anatomy. I have enjoyed House even if he is a surly
s.o.b I also liked channel 10's The Surgeon & ABC's MDA.
I hope the "guy in the wheelchair" is in it. He was my favourite character.
:)
The character is Andy Pipkin, and yep, he's in the 3rd series.
Oh I liked MDA too, didn't they stop producing that too? I usually don't
like medical shows since I work in the industry but MDA was just too
good and I like the legal aspect, I like House and Greys anatomy
too...greys anatomy is the trashy sexed up version of house really, My
DH won't watch it.
Alley
We watch Little Britain too ... and I'd love to watch Carnivale, but There
always seems to be one kid awake and wanting to be with us on a Sunday night
and I think its far too scary to watch with them there.
Of course I could tape it (for the sole purpose of watching at my
convenience) but that would involve some forward planning...
A
Little Britain is currently being played on UKTV (Foxtel) on Monday
nights at 8.30pm. Season 1 I belive. There is also Blackadder every
weeknight at 7.30pm, currently up to the second or third episode of
season 2.
Cheryl
Absolutely. Mr 3 & Mr 7 would both be scared. Luckily it's past their
bedtimes.

LOL... I can identify with that. I made a Media PC last year during my
holidays and now I only have to forward plan once - the computer does
the rest.
Some details if anybody is interested:

"Extraordinary rendition" is not Nikki Webster singing
the national anthem.
Yes they did :(

Yeah I know.......................... don't like it.
Last year we were in the bank trying to close an account but the
software wouldn't let it happen. Lynette said "The computer says no" in
a droll voice but the woman at the bank obviously wasn't a LB fan
judging by her blank reaction.

My boys love doing the Anne "eh eh eh" it can get a little embarassing,
but still amusing.

even talking to Rochelle since she gave Tony the last bit of her stuffed
crust under the table in Pizza Hut and anyway their food's rubbish and I

Lol.
A lot of people quite like the topfield pvr. Its a set top box with a
hard drive for recording and 2 tuners so you can watch one channel and
record the other.
The digital broadcasting association website has quite a bit of
information on digital set top boxes.

Personally, I think the HMC (see link above) is good value for money.
It runs software called MythTV (http://www.mythtv.org/) on a Linux PC.
I can now be so lazy as to browse the TV guide from a computer on my
home network and click on the programme I want to record.

LOVE the sig....we're getting an aerial thingy to plu into the pc...instead
of paying $1000 upwards for a 17in plasma tv, $1000 upwards for a
soundsystem, with a bit of modification, our pc will do everything!! DH is
so impressed with his cleverness....yay technology!!
Of course you mean Red Dwarf....How could you forget?
http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/
I have one season on DVD from before it started going downhill. There
is still apparently a movie in the offing but I really doubt that it's
going to come off.
Cheryl
Lol!! I think I must have been very young....i only remember a few
episodes!!
We've got ours plugged into the telly. I'm watching the price of wide
screen LCD tvs fall at the moment. I wouldn't mind one but can't really
justify spending $2000 on a tv when we have a tv that already does a
good job. I wouldn't be too surprised to find LCD tvs in Aldi soon.
I want to lie,
Shipwrecked and comatose,
Drinking fresh,
Mango juice,
Goldfish shoals,
Nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun,
Fun, fun, fun,
In the sun, sun, sun.
:-)
