I have been unable to find a supplier that is able to supply in small
quantities (4). The minimum is 60, which at $60 each, is a bit more
than I want to spend just to experiment with them. Does anybody
know of a supplier here or otherwise that is able to supply these?
Alternatively, is there anybody that wants to share in buying 60 of
these things?
Thanks,
Dale.
(If you want to reply directly, change the '_' in the name to a '.')
You're up against it if you just want to "experiment" with such a
specialised chip. If there is an evaluation board available for the
device, the local Moto rep should have no problem ordering that for you.
It's probably better that just getting the chip if you just want to
experiment, since they usually have some sort of development software, not
to mention the fact that the PCB and bacic circuit is already done. It may
be a bit more expensive though. If you are experimenting with the
intention to develop a product, you may be able to get the rep to ask for
samples from Motorola. These are usually free, but they (Moto) usually
want to know things like future volumes etc. If you get on the reps good
side, they might just put in a sample request anyway, although for such a
specialised/expensive chip, you might have trouble.
Hope this helps a little.

I do not know what is minimal quantity or the price -- contact them.
Depending on how many you will need in the future you might be able to get
samples.
You can also try Motorola direct.
AVNET PACIFIC is another source of Motorola parts.

Thanks,
Dale.
