In this day and age, a lot of companies put profits before customer service.
In my case Panasonic Australia put the Customer first and for that they
should be commended.

A few weeks ago, I posted a NG item asking for a bit of help and direction
with a particularly troublesome 78 cm Panasonic TV. This TV was 8 months out
of warranty (original warranty was 3 years) and had developed a high pitch
squeal (BTW Thanks to all who emailed me with support and direction).
Panasonic Australia responded (after reaching the right department) and
repaired this noise problem free of charge (couple of inductor coatings,
resistor and capacitor change). A few days later, the TV went dead (a fault
that has appeared a few times during warranty - blown in rush resistor).
After contacting Panasonic again, they immediately offered to replace the
Television New or Old. When I purchased the original TV it was Panasonics
"top of the range" 78cm GAOO TV (Japanese Model). Panasonic Australia
replaced the unit with their current "top of the range" 79cm Flat Screen 100
Hz Model Japanese Model TX-79P100Z. see
http://www.panasonic.com.au/pa_main/v1/catalogue/Product_Features_Frame.cfm?
MODEL=TX-79P100Z%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20&PRODUCT=CTV

As you can imagine, I am pretty impressed with Panasonics Customer Service
and I thought I would post this item for interested people who may be
thinking of buy a new TV/VCR/DVD etc.Keep this post in the back of your mind
when deciding on a purchase.

This new TV is superb in every way (Picture, Sound and connectivity). IMHO I
could and would not pass up a company with that level of commitment to
customer service.

A Big THANKS to Panasonic Australia (in particular Mr Paul Cambie & Lister
?? - Panasonic Australia Customer Service Dept).

Hello

Well, you obviously have not had any problems ith panasonic computer
equipment. I had a panasonic 4x writer, from 1996, and the fan in the
back of it died. It is near impossible to get these 2.5cm low rpm
fans..... So i contacted panasonic.

Q "Where can i get it serviced?"
A "We only replace not service."

Q "Where can i buy a new fan?"
A "We don't sell them."

They didn't want to know me. If it was one day over warranty they
wouldn't have wanted to know me.

Maybe you were lucky and managed to get through to someone having a
nice day.

I have had teac replace a normal cd drive 8 months out of warranty,
with a response time of 5 days, so i can't complain about teac.

Mark
