Pixellation in transferred movies.

After burning recent downloaded movies, such as "Renfield" and "Sisu"
to a DVD-R I get severe pixellation on playback on a Sony & Panasonic
DVD players.
Each of these movies are 1.7GB in size, and are burned to DVD at the
lowest possible speed.
They play without problems on the computer using the VLC media player.
What can be causing this pixellation/distortion? All other movies are
burned and played without problems.
Is there some devilish new anti-pirate provision being deployed?
Please help; desperate!
