Police say the 33-year-old Abbotsford man was walking past the casino on Pirrama Road in Pyrmont about 8:50am AEST, when he boarded
the bus with the motor running.
Police say the man, who was allegedly drunk, sat in the driver's seat when the driver was standing nearby awaiting the arrival of
other passengers for a sightseeing tour.
He allegedly drove along several local streets before returning to the point of departure.
Police say he then ran from the vehicle and was chased by the driver and a number of other people. Police on patrol joined the
chase.
The man was arrested a short time later after an alleged struggle with officers.
A roadside breath test allegedly returned a reading of 0.155, three times the legal limit.
The man has been charged with unlawfully driving a vehicle, drink driving, assaulting police, resisting arrest and escaping police
custody.
He has been conditionally bailed to appear in Downing Centre Local Court next month.

Thanks Gerald,
I was one of the people who started the group way back when - not one of the two nominees, that was Brent Curtis and Iain Sinclair I
think.
The group was about inner city living (vs burbs and towers, etc) and was active for a long time.
Maybe the best posts were about grafitti, with "Corpse and two veg" painted on the wall of the wool store (which burnt down - now to
be the Ian Thorpe pool, etc), and a door painted on a wall with a sign "Door for mad men".
There was also the day that Ultimo hosted events by Bill Gates, The Pope, and Noam Chomsky.
And the extreme variety of TLAs: SMH (now moved); ABC, TAB, PWH, UTS, etc.
You don't see much good grafitti nowadays - most of what's there is imagination-free "tags" by juveniles with an identity crisis.
Cross posting from village voice, or links to it might be a good idea.
Cheers, Tom.
Paul has no website or online forum, as far as I know. That's why I
though you might suggest adopting aus.culture.ultimo to his group.

There are a lot of people who drop in, or check out google groups. [The ones I know about are people who knew me in the past, and
could use an old email address (UTS) that still works...
