So long Skinbook, hello International Naturists And Nudists

Last week after a 2 week break out in the bush, I logged into Skinbook
only to find that I had been banned from the site. No explanation,
and no response from the site's admin when I emailed them to ask why.
This was quite irritating, but it got me thinking just who exactly is
in charge of that network?
Since its inception in late 2008, many members have been suspended or
banned with no prior warning or reason and a number of forum posts
deleted without warning, other than the fact that some of the sites
moderators did not like the way they were going when they became
divisive.
Apparently one of the main admins is not even a practicing nudist, and
another one is a bully who would even personally attack some of the
forum members when he disagreed with their opinion.
Is this the kind of image that the naturist and nudist movement really
wants to be projected on the broader world? If so, then I'm sorry to
see it going that way.

feel I'm in good company.
My dispute was over a comment by an admin just before locking the
thread on Steve Gough, his comments were potentially libelous and
unwarranted. Fortunately I saved the page where the libelous comment
was made, so deletion of that won't help them.

CCBN don't seem to like anyone standing up to them either, because

I tried to respond to you yesterday but my computer froze up and lost
the whole message. Grrrr!!
Anyway, with assertions that the rules are sexist and anti-gay, here
is my take on them: Just because you observe the differences in the
ways the sexes interact it does not mean that you are sexist. I do
not prevent anybody from posting comments on profiles, especially when
commenting on photos.
What I am against is some of these COGs (Creepy Old Guys), and some
CYGs who sign up to nudist websites and networks not because they are
interested in nudist activities but because they get a kick out of
hassling and tormenting the female members. And sadly there are some
females who quit nudist and naturist activities because of the actions
of a few thoughtless individuals who are male more often than not. I
agree with what SB says on their disclaimer "Being hassled by idiots?
Don't you leave, make THEM leave!"
As for anti-gay rules, well it's a bit more difficult to explain but
here goes. On many network sites there are individual users who post
up photos of themselves with a member of the same sex as their avatar
photo. For people who do not know them it's confusing to work out
which one is them. If they are a male/female couple and post as being
a couples account then it's easier. Then again the South East
Queensland nudists group had a husband and wife couple on it a few
years ago called Kim & Ros.
After reading a few reader's posts addressed to them on the group it
turned out that the husband's name was Kim and his wife's name was Ros
(short for Rosalind). ;-)

Profile:
1) Your profile must contain a current headshot of yourself, or a full
body shot if you so desire. Anonymous photos, closeups of buttocks,
genitalia and breasts, photos with other people (unless you are a m/f
couple), and photos nicked from other sites are not acceptable.
2) It is preferred that you use your real name on your profile or a
handle that is pertinent to naturism. For example 'NatureBoy1973' is
acceptable, 'WickedNekkidGangbangKing' is not.
3) Do not post sleazy or negative comments onto other member's
profiles. Treat others the way you you want to be treated. If there is
something you wouldn't say to another person in real life, then don't
do it on here either. Anyone who disobeys this rule will get a two
strike warning followed by banning.
4) State whom you want to meet, and respect other member's decisions
to do likewise. For instance, if you are a single guy and you see a
couple's profile which states they are only interested in meeting
other couples then don't send them a friend request, move onto
somebody else.
5) Do not post any information on your profile that you would not
otherwise want to share with others in real life. If your profile
contains unsavory, illegal or illicit interests you will be reported
to Ning.
PHOTOS
1) Photos posted on your profile must be your own. Make sure they are
marked and copyrighted as your own. No hardcore or explicit imagery
will be allowed - any nude photos must be tastefully composed.
2) Use JPG, GIF or PNG files as imagery as they are the most
convenient photo files.
FORUM
1) Post threads in the appropriate categories. Any threads or posts in
the wrong categories will be moved.
2) When posting news stories, it is best to use the site http://www.tinyurl.com
as the link as some links can be quite cumbersome and don't show in
their entirety.
3) Whilst debating and having difference of opinion on many things is
healthy, refrain from name-calling. In short if you can't agree with
another member on a certain topic then agree to disagree agreeably.
4) Do not bump threads up which are over a year old.
5) Use a spell-checker to review your posts before broadcasting them
so that they can be easily read and understood, especially if English
is not your first language.
BANS AND SUSPENSIONS
*Unlike Skinbook, INN will not ban or suspend anybody without prior
warning*. You will only be banned if:
1) You post pornographic imagery or sexually compromising photos of
yourself on your profile.
2) You leave defamatory or sleazy comments on member's pages,
especially female members.
3) You post a member's private details on the forum
4) You post spam on the forum such as money making opportunities,
pyramid selling, links to porn sites or online pharmacies
GROUPS
1) Only one group dedicated to a certain facet of naturism is allowed.
For instance if there is a group already dedicated to interests like
photography, exercise, massage, single guys, gay and lesbian people
then don't start another one with the same agenda. Duplicate groups
will result in the newer one being deleted.
VIDEOS
1) Videos must be your property on your profile. If you wish to share
a video from another site, then simply post the URL to it.
EVENTS
1) You are welcome to post events on this network whether it be your
own or one with a group or club that you are a member of.
2) If reporting about an event, be factual about it and refrain from
hyperbole.

The reality is that on sites where women post nude imagery of
themselves for others to see they are more vulnerable to getting
inappropriate and sleazy comments than guys are, plus they react to

As you indicate the reason for this rule is to prevent confusion, perhaps
this could be improved:

This would avoid needless discrimination and the perception of same, as well as

When I placed ads for a nudist youth group in the paper in the early
90's, everyone was polite and civil when I answered the phone. When I
was out of the house and my younger sister or mum answered the phone
the callers (who were all guys) started trying to talk dirty to them.

So what? You are missing the point. The fact that women get more sleazy
comments than men does emphatically *not* require you to put a mention of
that in a rule. The rule applies to everyone, period.
Likewise there was no need, absolutely no need at all, to provide a specific
exemption for mixed-sex couples from the rule about photos. All you've
acheived by doing so is to create a rod for other people to beat you with.
Try using a bit of thought in future!

I was removed as not only as a moderator but as a member when the
admins were sent the message that mods could not longer remove members
for gross inappropriate activity. We could only approve photos or not
and if a photo was not nudist, we could only write the perpetrator a
message and not remove him/her.
I alerted the masses what was going on and subsequently was removed.
When my sister posted where I could be found and some Travelites'
events, she was removed. I just think the site owners are young,
have no idea how to market nudism./naturism and don't think about what
repercussions might be to their actions.

verbally by teachers when I was little over my slow learning and it did
nothing to make me a better student. When I was in high school, my guidance
counsellour did some tests on me and said that I was dyslexic, not in the
sense that I couldn't read or write (which I could), but that I had a
processing problem with being able to understand and assimilate information,
particularly if it was very lengthy.
For many years it was considered abnormal until the whole ADD and finally
ADHD epidemic came about. These days the majority of kids and teens have
the same problem that I had when I was younger, especially when it comes to
using internet groups and forums.
Beating them up in order to make them better students will not solve the
problem. Read the old fable from Aesop about the sun, the wind and the
traveller and learn something from it. :)

The spoken word has inflection, which written grammatical punctuation
is intended to convey, so although you're technically right, it's
clear that you have absolutely no idea why. I, like Marc, have given
up trying to read your jottings, the words are meaningless the way you
