Tired of freeware--Kaspersky?

freeware, CCleaner, Super Antispyware and AVG Free. I notice Kaspersky is
available for 2 years for USD 80. Would it do everything that the above
three freeware products do? Im ready to pay for an allinone automatic
solution so looking for advice on the best product. Thanks.

From your headers it looks like you have Vista [1]. If so, why don't
you use the supplied (Microsoft) Windows Defender as your anti spyware/
malware software?
And why do you (think) you need CCleaner on a regular basis?
As to anti-virus software, I use the freeware avast! Home Edition.
That can work fully automatic if you want it to.
[1] Windows Defender is also available (downloadable) for XP, just not
supplied as part of XP.

You may be right, but I'm looking at the Kaspersky 2 year licence for three
computers at Officeworks for $104, and thinking to myself that it would be
nice not to have to spend half of every Sunday morning downloading
definition updates and running scans on two computers. The thought of just
setting it up and forgetting about it is very appealing. Since I am about
to change over to Windows 7 it seems like an approrpriate moment to stop
being such a tightass and make life simpler. So I'm really just looking for
confirmation that Kaspersky will do the whole job and let me get down to the
beach earlier.

If your paying $80US 2 year lic, then your being ripped off.
You can buy 3 PC + 2 Years for under $80 OZ.
CCleaner, is just a junk remover. Nuthin to do with spyware, adware,
viruses. So if you want to remove the system of left over crap, then
you still need to run CC occasionally.

Just noticed your using Microshit Windoze Mail, so you must be using
Vista.
I thought Outlook Express was crap, but Windoze Mail takes crap to a
whole new level. This product is so good even M$ dumped it from
Windoze 7.

several points above AVG).
I wonder if the antivirus/security suite add on to windows 7 keeps your CC
details in a public FTP folder on your computer? That would be handy if you
ever forgot it.

It's as slow as a wet week downloading the setupeng.exe file. Only
averaging about 30kB/s.

Running Avast now, instead of Avira. I'm amazed at how much more
comprehensive it is. Looks like a keeper.

I have installed the 2010 security suite on a couple of pc's around the
house as I got a free 3pc 1 year license with Windows 7.
The AV, anti-spyware and firewall work OK.
I have seen criticism that the anti-spyware database isn't as comprehensive
as some others but has good heuristic detection to compensate.
Application Controls can be setup using rules predefined by Kaspersky or
manually adjusted (controls an applications access to system and personal
files)
I don't use the virtual keyboard (attempt to defeat keyloggers)
I don't use the parental controls.
I haven't used the Safe Run (SandBox) component that can run programs in
virtual space protecting the OS. Especially suited for using ICQ, MSN, Yahoo
messenger services to protect your identity.
The only intervention needed from me was related to the firewall setting for
a couple of programs.
Is it the best? Not likely but it is definitely more tha adequate.
Why not download the trial. It is a fully functional but time limited.
Just purchase a key and enter it if you find the product is suitable.
