Hi guys,

Have just got broadband through Bigpond and I'm missing something in
the TCP/IP configuration on OS/2. I have an ADSL modem that acts as a
DNS on 10.0.0.138, which is linked to a router on 192.168.0.1. I can
get to a web site if I type in the IP address, but when I enter a URL
it takes ages to resolve the address. Not being a network guru - it's
all a bit confusing. I'd really appreciate any assistance.

Regards

David

I would try setting the dns on the OS/2 pc to the IP of the bigpond
server and see if that helps.

Cheers,

I successfully use Bigpond adsl with os/2 or eCs 1.2 for years now. Check
that the bigpond adsl modem is set to act as a dhcp server - it is the
default setting for the speedtouch 530. If your modem acts as a dhcp server
you may have a conflict with your other router. You probably only need a
switch not a router to connect to the speedtouch modem.

I recently had problems with the adsl modem and had to replace it with
another brand. I use it in conjunction with a wired switch and wireless
switch for wireless netwroking under OS/2.

Hello,

do the following click start, run then type cmd

then type ipconfig(space) /flushdns

then ipconfig(space) /registerdns.

this should sort your problem.
