Hello aus.netters,

Well I just picked up an OZAmiga mag and I thought, Wow an Australian
mag that has a cover disk (but not on the cover ;-). Then when I opened it up
I found it was made in W.A. (WOW). Well The letters page suggests that at
least one person on the mag has email so why didn't you publish an address?
Also I know that its your third issue so can I get back issues (free? ;-).
how big is your staff? Need any software testers/reviewers? Want to give me
an A4000 to review? Also how can I contact the guy who wrote Magnatron (Should
I read the Docs?)

In closing I'd just like say that although I believe that other mags
are better, You're the only W.A. mag I've ever seen.

Well...um...er...Hi there. I used to be an employee of the OZAmiga magazine so
I suppose I'd better give everyone the lowdown......

Unfortunately there has been a lot of trouble with the partners who owned
the magazine and as a result one of them has pulled out. This also saw the
resignation of all staff except for Mr. David Reeves. The staff felt that it
was not in their best interests to continue with the magazine. In fact we would
like it to be known that we have nothing to do with OZAmiga at all. The problems
with Mr. Reeves could cause irreparable damage to the reputation of the staff
and especially Mr Gary Blackman. It is for this reason that we have pulled the
plug. Mr Reeves intends to keep OZAmiga going but somehow with no staff it
could be slightly difficult. If he approaches anyone you know could you tell
him exactly where to go but then again it is your own decision.
The staff have resolved themselves to start a new magazine provided we can get
the funding. The OZAmiga has no support from any retailers or advertisers any
more and they all intend to continue their relationship with us instead. We
have employed two design consultants to plan the layout of the new mag and
thus it will look tons better, hopefully? The first issue should be out in
january some time cause I have my exams to do and stuff.
The new staff is listed below:-

Editor-in-Chief: Matthew Christou (SCHR...@CC.CURTIN.EDU.AU)
Managing Editor: Darien Spence
Technical Editor: Chris Leathley
Coverdisk Editor: Simon Richards
Advertising Manager:Gary Blackman
Staff writers: Richard wiffen, Richard Allcock,Mark Johnson,Sebastian Hunsley,
Mark Scholmann, Martin Cholkowski (SCHO...@CC.CURTIN.EDU.AU),
Glen Kidd (SKI...@CC.CURTIN.EDU.AU, George Borzyskowski
Adam Wesley , David Newman, Morgan Smith.

Currently Martin,Glen, Rick W and Me are the only ones who are conatactable
through e-mail through internet though Simon,Darien,Morgan and Richard A can
be contacted through KAOS BBS. We hope that all of our readers can join us on
our new mag (Somehow I don't think you'll ever see another OZAmiga..but that's
my opinion). If anyone has any queries they should phone either Darian Spence
on 300 1327 or Gary on 247 1971. Failing that you could e-mail me here.
If you have any suggestions for the new mag do not hesitate to tell us cause
even we know that OZAmiga wasn't that good (but getting a lot better very quick
ly).

Regards,
Matt Christou (Editor-in-Chief :- AmigaXpress magazine?)

Quite a few people I know will not but that mag.
Reason :> we do not beleive it is value for money. Just because it
is made in Aus does not mean we are going to buy it.

I saw it in the Newsagent but since it was sealed, I could not look
at it to see if I wanted to buy it. Then someone at work bought it.
We all looked at it and made our decision.

If you like it, fine. But we dont.

I used to subscribe to PAU untill it went bust.

ACAR is only good to buy every 6 months for the ads.

WOW the interwebz keeps a lot of info doesn't it haha

I moved on to study Multimedia Design & Photography and still practice my craft, hoping to catch up with Matt and the boys at sometime in the not too distant future as we have recent "found" each other through facebook haha go figure. I think I even still have a copy of the original Edition Zero which was hand collated & stapled by me over weekend along with the first few editions that I was involved with. OMG that seems like a lifetime ago :)

Hehe, interesting read! I am looking to hunt down the missing copies of OZAmiga magazine for the Internet Archive (and my own Amiga 68k Assembly journey). Funnily enough I am currently studying Digital Design through Curtain Uni... Hmm well I dont know if anyone will respond to this message but it would be great to source the missing issues or even talk about collating a new Amiga mag for the diehard enthusiasts amonst us that are still using Amigas today :) Cheers
