Anyone know what differences there are between the V6 executive and the V6
police pack. I know of the following:
- FE-2 suspension
- dual air bags
- ABS
- Sump guard (steel?)
- fuel tank guard (plastic?)
- high quality stereo (ie CD input)
- Calibrated speedo (ie 2 km/hr increments)
- toggle switch for interior lights

I have heard rumours regarding
- modified chip?
- front brake pads?

Yes and no. The memcal IS different, it has a unique code, but there it is
99.99% standard, and has NO extra performance or changes to fuel, timing,
rev limit, or trans or in fact anything to do with the car's operation. The
only change is to the prom ID, in other words the part number.

My understanding was that an the oilcoooler kit was fitted to the gear
box IE the one used for towing & that the engines were HSV modified eg
an extra 3 KW or was that just for the VR commodore.

Are the specs mentioned before for VS II as Different for the VT. I saw
a VT patrol car on the news with regard to the water siders strivke over
in australia

My brother in law bought a VR Series 2 Ex-Victorian Police Car also known as a A9XV6

After putting it on a dyno it had 165kW = 18kW more than standard
A different tranmission with cooler
FE 2 suspension

Is that a V6 or a V8?????

Getting 165kw on a dyno would mean that there must be nearly 235kw at
the flywheel (taking 30% drivetrain loss). I don't think so....

<snip>

Did you put a standard VR commodore on the dyno to reference this
against? We all know how reliable dyno (operators) are.

Firstly, I seriously doubt Holden would reuse a model designation and more so
if it was as famous at this.

BT1/3 ??????

>After putting it on a dyno it had 165kW = 18kW more than standard

I assume your talking engine dyno as a chassis dyno would mean *AT LEAST*
200kW at the flywheel. So if it was an engine dyno they went to all the
trouble of removing the engine and exhaust, fitted it to a dyno, supplied
bodgie VSS pulses etc - I most seriously doubt this.

Are you sure it wasn't 165HP or (approx 120kW?) which you could ALMOST believe
from the standard 147kW V6.

It can't be supercharged as the VS only had S/C on the Calais and Statesy and
the VT is too young for the auctions.

If not a 4LE60 electronic auto then waht?

Trimatic or Powerglide perhaps?

Sure its not just a recalibrated auto?

ME thinks your brother in law is pulling his pud. Either way, when your both
in Sydney, got a near new bridge for sale.

Turn your cap the wrong away around. That'll be good for at least
another 150KW. Plus you get more street cred that way from commodore
loving bogans. You'll also be the envy of the entire centrelink
community. You're welcome.
